May 16, 200817 yr I LOVE OTT Productions, & 'Eloise' is certainly such a Single! I had it on Singles Disk once - but lost it. You can get the Track on many 1960's 'Hits' Compilations, But the Track is always EDITED! It is never the complete version that was a Hit Single. They edit at least 2 Minutes from it, for 'Hits' Albums. It is a terrible shame. Edited May 16, 200817 yr by zeus555
May 16, 200817 yr Author he had a string of minor hits too (after splitting from bother paul, minor hit with 'dont bring me your heartache '), all of which were ok i thought,, 'kitch', 'the hunt', 'love is love', 'cant let you go'... these are yet to appear in a pop quiz!
May 18, 200817 yr what are your thoughts on this wonderfully ott track and #1 from '68? personally i think its great! In a word brilliant. It was written by Barry's twin brother Paul (who is unfortunately no longer with us after his death in 1992) after they stopped recording together. It actually peaked at #2 in 1968 behind Hugo Montenegro with The Good The Bad & The Ugly. You can hear the complete unedited 5min 42sec version HERE He had a few smaller hits some in the same vain with the orchestration. 1969 - Love Is Love #25 (like an Eloise part 2) 1969 - The Hunt #34 1970 - Magical Spiel #49 1970 - Kitsch - #37 1972 Can't Let You Go - #32 Barry was also a massive star in Germany and still appears on nostalgia shows and tours. He was also part of the 'Solid Silver 60s Tour' of the UK in 2003, Punk band The Damned covered it in 1986 and made #3 but it pales in comparison to Barry's original. When it turned out that Barry's brother, allegedly on the verge of a nervous breakdown, was unable to cope any longer with all the stress connected with show business, the two brothers decided on a new division of labour: Paul would write the songs which Barry would then interpret as a solo artist. When Paul and Barry recorded together they clock up a few hits. Anyone remember any of these? 1965 - Don't Bring Me Your Heartaches #13 1966 - Have Pity On The Boy #18 1966 - I Love Her #17 1966 - I Love How You Love Me #21 1966 - Have You Ever Loved Somebody #49 1966 - Missy Missy #43 1967 - Keep It Out Of Sight #30 1967 - Claire #47 Their mother was 50s singing star Marion Ryan Edited May 18, 200817 yr by Euro Music
