It's zoomed up to No27 on the Amazon Sales Chart. I'm not surprised

haha.

Tbf, it IS one of his best albums...

Well Paul McCartney's new album is being give away FREE in the Mail tomorrow....am I going to rush out & knock everyone down in the rush to get it ...NO......Rudebox is a 100 times better.....the press are just having another bash at Robbie.....very few albums are selling these days & remember Robbie never promoted Rudebox & it was what No 1 in 14 countries if I remember correctly....
Next week The Mail are giving away a whole Robbie album :o Thru The Lens

Where did you hear that.....EMI must be giving it away...Are you taking the P*ss..... <_<

Surely not?

I really hope this is not true. That album is my fave Rob album ever, it is bloody amazing and does not deserve to be given away for free. It is one of the best selling albums ever in the UK, so makes little sence giving it away. Surely if EMI wanted to get rid of CD's, they would give away spare copies of Rudebox  It is possible though seeing as it is EMI who are behind most of these Free CD giveaways.

I got Macca's album today with the Mail, and it is very good. It was critically acclaimed and is his biggest album in years so i don't get why it was given away either

All this giving away for nothing is not good news imo...it devalues the work of the artist...how long does it take to write an album & then bloody give it away for nothing....how is an up & coming artist supposed to make any money...advertising bloody Pepsi & Building Societies..what has that got to do with making music & singing.....it makes me really cross & of course the big guns like EMI are sitting on their big asses doing absolutely nothing ....

I agree. It is all very depressing. I guess it's symptomatic of the fact that nobody is making any money from selling records these days. <_<

Well....Giving it away for nothing will not help the situation....does anyone ever appreciate something that they get for nothing !!!!!!!....this whole thing is really making me totally pi**ed off....   :angry:what is the point of Robbie making an album at the moment if he ends up giving it away for free....I just wish that the music industry would come up with some innovative & novel ways of getting music out to the fans.....not everyone uses their computers for music ...I still think that albums should be sold as part of a boxset or something ...they may sell less but each one would have a higher value & the genuine fans would buy them...giving CD's away for free is really scraping the bottom of the barrel...Radiohead did it & I will bet they are regretting it now....

It annoys me because I paid about £12 for Rudebox when I brought it in Virgin. :arrr:

You've never made money from record sales. The most money has always been from tours and merchandising. As they're still thriving musicians have nothing to worry about...

I guess that's right. The mega-rich acts like the Stones make all their dosh from touring. I suppose the one good thing is that hopefully the manufactured pop puppets famous for miming and daft wee dance routines are less likely to become millionnaires. ^_^

I must admit though, I still like a physical CD rather than just a download. <_<

damn i really love so much this album....

Ah !!! I would not worry....they all end up in the bargain bin eventually.....I mean look at Radiohead they could hardly get anyone to actually pay for their new album when they put the choice out to their fans...BAD idea in my opinion...who appreciates anything you get for nothing or more or less for nothing...   at least I dont'..... <_<

Overall Rudebox did pretty well but Robbie was not around to personally promote it......bad timing on the release date imo....
