May 27, 200818 yr I wondered whether they were lower down. It seemed very strange to me to go up so many stairs to the stalls.
May 27, 200818 yr It doesn't feel weird inside the actual auditorium. In fact I absolutely loved the setting. There was so much and I'm not sure I really took it all in. The only thing I felt could improve it, would be if the Tara and Twelve Oaks pillars could have some sort of removable coverings in white or marble effect in the early scenes. I always associate large plantation houses with sparkling white and when I was in Savannah, Georgia the buildings seemed to be more light and pastel coloured, not naturalstone.
May 27, 200818 yr Well, Tara was white and so were 12 oak's pillers. I just couldn't always tell Atlanta from 12 Oaks, from tara. Except they told me which was which.
May 29, 200818 yr There's very little else on the stage to focus on other than the costumes of the castand the people themselves but I still think the pillars would look a tad grander and a simple wrap around skin in pliable material might do the job. I guess it's the lack of Darius in the first few scenes which let me just half concentrate on the action and take in the actual stage set. Edited May 29, 200818 yr by Baytree
May 30, 200818 yr In all honesty, I think the opening scenes onstage might be longer than the opening scenes of the film.
May 30, 200818 yr They've been shortened since you went BT. The last change I saw there was that Scarlett's part in the first song with gerald, has gone.
May 30, 200818 yr I don't remember Jill singing any of that song. I vividly remember all the slaves in their scene, nothing much of Mrs O'Hara's prayer but I do remember Jill's expressions during it.
May 30, 200818 yr I liked the prayed too and the way her song interlinked with the prayer the others were making. The part she sang in Gerald's song really suited her voice well. He's singing about land being the most imprtant thing and she sings 'How can you be so blind? Love is all we need to find' The words may not be exact as I'm just remembering. She sounded very sweet in it.
