i dont like bob marley..... its an album of my favs not a definitive album of everyones all time greats.

i could have done better, maybe, but i wanted variety without too much jamaican reggae of which im not much of a fan, indeed like brian i only know about half of your choices, reggae to me was 'incidental' and not a style of music i sought out. :)

Great choices from Thisispop - did Amy Winehouse cover Monkey Man? f***ing hell, how bad must that be?

Not A big fan of Reggae, only in moderation...preferred a bit of a ska tbh :)

1. Bad Manners - Lip up Fatty........Huge singer Buster Bloodvessel sweated buckets singing this

2. The Beat - Mirror in the Bathroom....more pop than ska I suppose, but my favourite track by them

3. Madness - One step beyond..............The nutty boys doing what they do best

4. Selector - Missing Words.....I liked this one

5. Specials - Gangsters..............One of my favourite songs from early 80's

6. The Beat - Hand's off she's mine......fast paced track

7. Selector - On my radio.....Another one I remember well

8. Specials - A message to you Rudy......One of the first Specials songs I really liked

9. The Police - So Lonely...............Great song, were they Singing about Sue Lawley though :D

10. 10CC - Dreadlock Holiday......Who would have thought, this act would have got a reggae song to number 1, I don't like cricket either

11. Bob Marley - Jamming.....only song I rate by him

Here's some off the top of my head

1. The Clash - 'Rudie Can't Fail'

2. Max Romeo - 'War Ina Babylon'

3. The Specials - 'Long Shot (Kick De Bucket)'

4. Madness - 'Return of the Los Palmas Seven'

5. Bob Marley & The Wailers - 'Bend Down Low'

6. The Jolly Brothers - 'Conscious Man'

7. Toots & The Maytals - 'Monkey Man'

8. Freddie McGregor - 'This Carry Go Bring Come'

9. Shabba Ranks - 'Trailer Loada Girls'

10. Beats International - 'Echo Chamber'

Would need some Lee Perry, Upsetters & King Tubby stuff on there too though!

the only song by marley id rate was 'exodus'...

Mine's Three Little Birds. Good choices though.

Does anyone remember that the riff at the beginning of Liquidator was used in the intro of the Staples Singers 70s hit (If You're Ready) Come Go With Me
