Posted May 27, 200817 yr Lucie has finally written a new blog! LATEST.......May 2008... Ok, so there are those who relish in the writing of regular blogs and are professional and focussed on keeping people up to date on their movements.....I have realized (as you may have for some time now) that I am not one of those people! I am sorry for not writing anything for so long, and only giving you visual snapshots (most of which are just of me posing and are completely pointless)! So Here we are in New YOrk city after spending a week ill with the flu-good times-and having to suspend any music activity. I am about to do a small set for bbc America where i will play some old and new songs, it will be my first gig in New york and should be fun. I am here working on the third album and am almost done and will need get it all recorded so i can justify what I have been doing all this time! I started out here in New york a few weeks ago working with two amazing guys Devo Springsteen (unfairly good name) and Itaal Shur-both lovely and talented people who i has a blast working with. I was in Nashville for a few weeks before here which i loved, I always love the atmosphere there, not only writing with some of the best writers i have met in my time in music but watching some amazing gigs and being inspired. My good friend's Kingbilly have just recorded the core of their album and have been doing some incredible gigs and also their work with GAc which is amazing and soon everyone will be able to get a real insight into their world and their most importantly, their unique music. I will not rest until they are over in the UK and showing the UK What is happening here in America other than the music we here from the usual places. Also my friend and insanely talented singer Kree Harrison will soon be heard by the world, she is someone who has inspired me beyond belief and am amazed every time i hear her. Being around these people as well as the amazing singers and writers i work with (Rachel Thibodeau, Jeffrey Steele, Angela Kaset, craig wiseman, Rodney clawson, Jon Stone, Jared Johnson, Betsy Ulmer.........i am bound to leave people out so i may as well stop now!) has taught me so many things about what I want to say and how i want to say it-this next album will be a very important for me and i wanna get it just right so forgive me if i am taking my time over it! I feel like i have been away from home forever and it goes without saying that i am missing it alot. Anyone who travels alot while they work knows how hard it can be working whilst missing the people you love, but it's gotta be worth it in the end-i have to ask myself everyday how i am living out a suitcase but i come up with the same answer everytime-when you love something so much you will go to the ends of the earth for it-so i will keep going til i find....the ends of the earth! Amazing how you can actually talk so much c**p in such a short space of time and still not have actually informed anyone of anything! So , here are 10 key bullet points 1. Still in America 2. Album will be here soon and i hope will be worth the wait! 3. American food and portion sizes are causing me a few issues 4. Missing home alot 5. Am in no way losing my british accent (or whatever my accent was) 6. Have bought a guitar and am trying to transfer the sense the piano makes over to the guitar, it's early days! 7. Have many new songs 8. You can't hear them yet 9. New York cab drivers are testing my patience 10.I am literally Aching to be on the road, touring, on a tour bus, performing, seeing everybody, and doing what i love the most. I hope this blog has not wasted any precious moments of anyone's life, chances are if you are on here in the first place you aint that busy right at this point! I am gonna leave you now to rehearse for this gig and then nail a bowl of over-sized american popcorn to reward myself! Nice. Thanks as always for reading, listening and being there. May 27, 200817 yr Awww it's nice to hear from her! Had no idea she was in New York...I was there last week! Just got back on Saturday! If I had known I would have been on the lookout for Lucie!
