I am confused though about why everyone is so confident it will do so well. I mean if half if it is going to be covers then they will have to be better than some of the $h!te we have heard already

I really hope Lovelight is not a cover and i look forward to the Madonna song

I was just reading back on TRWS at Karmakiller posts and he says that Lovelight has Rob singing very high like Tripping.

And when I was 'Googling' earlier I found several songs called 'The Actor'. Maybe it's a cover too. Maybe it's a covers album?

I really don't know how this will play. I'd say Robbie's fanbase (at least his wider fanbase) like stadium rock anthems to sing along to at the Karaoke. I expect most are not down the clubs every night shaking their booty to dance tunes.

And the uber-cool dance types will probably never buy a Robbie album anyway. He would cramp their style. <_<

I'm excited but I'm not convinced.

I am with you on this Jupiter, I cannot understand why people appear to sound so confident for the reasons you have already said.

Oh well its what he wants to do so good luck to him with it.

Is it just me or is that the daftest collection of song titles you've ever seen?

yup, I agree, its the daftness collection of song titles!

I just hope they sound better than they look on the list

Im hoping we are going to be all pleasantly surprised, I like looking on the bright side

I suppose you could be right Sparkle.

I mean look how good Agadoo turned out to be and it had a daft title....

I don't have high hopes for Burslem Normals.

actually I like the songs Kiss Me and Lousie. I can just imagine how Robbie would sing them. They will be fab.

Not sure about Bongo yet. But that could grow.

Is anyone imagining what the album cover will look like

With anything that Robbie does, rock, pop, swing, dance, covers -whatever- it always has that Robbie touch to it...he re-shapes any type of music to fit with his own style and puts his own stamp on it.

I dont think its necessarily that Robbie is doing a dance album as such that is exciting, but its that type of music with the unique Robbie twist that I am looking forward to hearing.

The good thing though is with each album Robbie has tried to change it up. He doesn't want to do the same re-hashed stuff over and over.

And he's even said he doesn't like a lot of the music he puts out. So maybe this is something he's always wanted to do.

And I suspect he's not too worried about selling millions. He probably just wants to make music he really likes and let that be it...if it makes millions, that's just the icing on the cake!

Robbie Williams announces new single

Plus there's an album on the way

Robbie Williams will release brand new single 'Rudebox' On September 4.

It is the first single to be taken from his as-yet-untitled new album, the follow up to 2005's 'Intensive Care'.

In a statement Robbie explained the meaning of the title: "'Rudebox' is loads of different things, sometimes it could be a vibe delivered in a spaceship direct to the studio, sometimes it's a really nasty girl dancing scantily clad, or sometimes it's a giant soundsystem...Sometimes it's actually just a box that tell you to **** off too."

The forthcoming album, which will be his seventh studio LP, is set to feature collaborations with Madonna producer William Orbit and The Pet Shop Boys who previously collaborated with Williams on his 1998 single 'No Regrets'.

from Bizarre in the Sun ( so it must be true  )

Rob wants Ibiza da action

ROBBIE WILLIAMS is heading to the dance capital of the world to launch his new album.

The Rock DJ is set to unleash 1974, his new techno album, on unsuspecting ravers in Ibiza.

I hear Radio 1 want Robbie to be a surprise guest on their week-long broadcast from there that starts on August 6.

A source told me: “They desperately want to get Robbie to launch his new album as a guest on PETE TONG’s show. But it looks like he will be heading out to Ibiza on Saturday 12 instead for the daytime shows with VERNON KAY or COLIN & EDITH. Rudebox — the first single — is out on September 4 so it would be ideal timing.â€

If Robbie sticks to his plans, he will follow in the footsteps of P DIDDY.

The blingin’ rapper launched his dance album at the rave nation in 2003.

But Let’s Get Ill made people sick of his new musical direction and after flop sales he soon reverted back to R&B.

Robbie describes 1974 — which he wrote with Stoke-on- Trent pals SOUL MEKANIK aka DANNY SPENCER and KELVIN ANDREWS, as: “A nasty, dirty, bass-infused electro-funk-pop monster.â€

He added: “They might say its ‘dance’ or it’s ‘electro’ but it’s just what I like!

“It started off as a busman’s holiday this time around, but it’s become something in which I’ve found myself.â€

I just hope Robbie has better luck than P Diddy did in Ibiza.

He is playing the Hockenheim Ring on Saturday the 12th. Idiots. -_-

Well Well Well

From listening to the Radio 1 interview today it's quite clear that the second single Lovelight is indeed a cover of the Lewis Taylor song I thought it might be.

Link to Lewis Taylor original version here-

AND the album is called RUDEBOX ... not 1974
