Posted June 2, 200818 yr Sophie's posted two new songs on her MySpace page. These are from sessions for her accidental next album, which was supposed to be a greatest hits album until a) someone presumably realised that it would sell seven copies, B) Sophie inadvertently recorded a load of brilliant songs. One of the new tracks is her version of 'Off & On', which is produced by Calvin Harris. The track's been doing the rounds online with a Roisin Murphy vocal. Sophie's is better, so maybe she can have a Top 19 hit with it seeing as Roisin clearly doesn't want one. (8.5/10) The other is 'Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer', which was recorded with Biff and the Freemasons. It certainly has a '"Beautiful Liar" remix'-esque charm to it. Nice zapping noise. Songs set in nightclubs are always amazing. (8.5/10) A solid 8.5/10 for her next album, then. Tell you what, let's round it up to a nine. June 2, 200818 yr Let's just say neither of these are exactly lead single material... Heartbreak sounds like a demo (maybe that's just the myspaz quality). Not bad, but missing something, and the vocals on the verse are really quite off-key... Off & On screams Calvin Harris even louder than In My Arms! But it's a bit of a miserable song, albeit with a cool chorus. Meh.

June 2, 200818 yr 'Off And On' is really good I think. Muchly improved from Roisin's demo and it has a similar vibe to Kylie's 'In My Arms' (of course it would having the same producer). I'm not sure this is quite the killer single Sophie needs but it's very decent all the same. 'Heartbreak Make Me A Dancer' I'm not at all keen on, both Sophie and Freemasons are capable of better (see what Freemasons did with Kylie's 'The One'). I find it a bit boring and it doesn't go anywhere, I hope she doesn't release this as it would flop. :(
