all of them are great albums and unfortunatly big flops...

even though they are some of the best pop albums released the past 2 years.

Set The Mood - David Jordan

Great pop album. Sounding a lot like Michael Jackson meets 'Happy Ending' Mika. With great singles like 'Sun goes down', 'Place in my heart' and amazing album tracks like 'Set the mood' and 'Only living soul'....

This album sounds like what Michael Jackson should have release if he was still active....

N.B - Natasha Bedingfield

It flopped in the UK (only sold 95.000 compared to 1 million copies of 'Unwritten') even though it's by far her best work. The singles were great 'I wanna have ur babies', 'Soulmate' and 'Say it again', and the album tracks even better 'How do you do' and 'No more what if's'.

Discipline- Janet

'Feedback' was a pop-R&b classic. It barely scraped the top 100 in the UK. '2nite' is one of the best pop singles ever recorded by Janet. 'Rock with u' and 'Luv' are some R&B's finest works yet the album struggled to sell 450.000 worldwide. Real shame.

Dignity- Hilary Duff

One of the best 80's flavoured electro albums sounding like Kylie Meets Avril Lavigne. Hilary surprised everyone with the amazing quality of the songs on the album. However fans were shocked therefore she struggled to make an impact.

Great tracks include : 'With love', 'Gypsy woman', 'Stranger', 'Outside of you' and 'Dreamer'

Detours- Sheryl Crow

she was one of the 90's leading divas , yet this decade she failed to match her previous success. This album flopped badly.

Best tracks: 'Out of our heads' , 'Shine over Babylon', 'Love is free' and 'Drunk with the Thought of You'.

Bittersweet World- Ashlee Simpson

Ok so Ashlee isn't one of the most talented artists around but this album exceeded all expectations with this 80's flavoured album. The bad choice of first single 'Outta my head' harmed the album's sales.

She should've released 'Boys' which is an instant classic, 'Hot stuff' is the best song Madonna hasn't released, 'Little miss obsessive' is good too.

Download Now: 'Hot stuff', 'Boys', "What I've Become" and "Rule Breaker" .

Trip The Light Fantastic- Sophie Ellis Bextor

What can i say about this album. It's a pop dance masterpiece. This was one of the best pop albums ever released yet it was widely ignored.

'Catch u', 'Me and my imagination' were amazing singles. However she should've released the catchy 80's flavoured 'China Heart' as the 3rd single which she didn't . 'If you go' is also another underrated classic .

Download Now: 'If you go' , 'China heart' , 'New flame' and 'Love is here'

Studio 1- All Saints

One of the best comeback albums by one of the ebst british talents ever.'Studio 1' was underpromoted therefore it flopped.

'Rock steady' is one of the best pop songs of this decade. 'Not easy' should've been the 2nd single and the great 'On And On" was overlooked.

None of the above, as I only own the All Saints album and sorry, but I don't think it is very good:

My nomination would be Nerina Pallot - Fires from 2006.

Everybody's Gone To War

Sophia

Like Thisispop, I wouldn't vote for any of this lot tbh... The Pop album that I feel was criminally under-rated was last year's "Heartland" by the wonderful Client.. A gorgeous, all female electro-pop trio making glorious, quality pop music that knocks spots off the likes of Madonna and Kylie's recent efforts.... Cant for the life of me understand why the likes of Ladytron and Goldfrapp get so many column inches, but Client get ignored in their own country, being more popular on the Continent....

Sophie bless her the album was almost perfect but just had bad single choices, second would definately be Bittersweet World.

Oh and N.B. does suck its not underated by any means...and thats coming from a Natasha fan.

Why of the last 2 years, and some of them albums you mentioned are awful.

Here's some from like, whenever [21st Century];

Estelle - The 18th Day

Korn - See You On The Other Side

Jamiroquai - Synkronized

Dizzee Rascal - Maths + English

Robbie Williams - Rudebox

Aerosmith - Honkin On Bobo [One of their BEST albums in 20-odd years!]

Pink - Try This

@ Grimly - I was thinking about adding The Open Door, but what stopped me from adding it was some of the worst lyric-written songs I've ever heard, and the fact that around 40/50% of the album is full of boring filler "ballads".

The only "filler" I thought on The Open Door was "Good Enough" (which is just utter SH!T) and one or two others.... But "Lithium" is just beautuful, and it's an out and out "Rock Ballad" let's face it, right up there with the big-hair Rock Chicks like Heart and Stevie Nicks.... I've actually started to appreciate the tracks that I undervalued before - such as "Your Star", "The Only One", etc.... About the only ones that I really DONT like now are probably the aforementioned "Good Enough" and "Lacrymosa".... Bad lyrics I can sort of forgive (and ignore) as long as in terms of music the songs have something about them, the way Amy's voice sounds on this album is also, I feel, better, she sounds quite, quite beautiful on this album.... Lazy music is something I have far more of a problem with, and "Fallen" in terms of music, was appalling (it was especially disappointing when you consider the demo/early versions of the "Fallen" tracks are actually better (esp "Bring Me To Life"...) for the most part, musically TOD is my favourite of their two "proper" albums ....

Korn - See You On The Other Side

Hmmm, wasn't sure we were allowed to include the more "Metal" stuff....

Yeah, that's a pretty good album, but I have to say, I preferred the untitled album of theirs from last year..... That was criminally under-rated as well.....

Good Enough was disasterous. I deffinatly agree with you on Lithium though, a song like that could put both of the Wilson sisters to shame. If I'm being honest, I havn't really checked out the album in a while, due to keep being put off by alot of the ballads. and I don't actually mind 'Fallen', yes it's a blatant commercial, money-grabbing sucess, but songs like Going Under and Everybody's Fool are decent enouth., but you can't really call it underatted now can you??

Never chekced out 'Untitled'. I've never really heard any songs/information about it myself, it was quite a low-key release.

Agree about Rudebox. It's great.

Rachel Stevens- Come And Get It album was amazing quality and should be included in the poll. Had the same vocals been released under Kylie's name, or another artist who can sell based on their name alone, and perhaps not the high quality of the album (nothing against Kylie, that is just a general comment) it would have been a top 5 album and sold a significant amount of copies.

I'm quite a big fan of the Wilson sisters, so I dunno about anything "putting them to shame", they're really one of the true originals in my mind.... :P  Songs like "Alone" and "Magic Man" are really still quite beautiful, and I reckon a young Amy Lee would be quite a big fan of Heart's, especially with all that big, dramatic, grand piano stuff...

I liked "Going Under" and "Everybody's Fool", just not really the rest of the "Fallen" album... For me, the demos of most of the songs do actually sound better.... I loved the way "Origin" and "Not For Your Ears" (the early demos and unreleased tracks) sounded... Dare I say it, they sounded more Avant Garde... That spirit kind of came back with TOD, which is why I liked it more as an album..... I hope you can understand my reasoning.... :)

Yeah I can. :P

I don't mind Alone, but for some reason I've always prefered songs like Barracuda, or Crazy On You. I've never really heard Evanescence go 'experimental', although wouldn't mind seeing a bit of change in the next album, (although I don't know how it will turn out seeing as there are currently only 3 members of Evanescence at the moment. ), or something more alternative rock/metal/goth, whatever she likes doing these days.

I will surprisde some people here. :o

Dignity.

It's by no means a fantastic album, but it's quality pop, and I do consider it underrated. I think many people were quick to pass it off as it's Hilary Duff, which is understandable, but there are some pop gems (With Love, Gypsy Woman, Between You and Me, Happy) when you dig into it.

NB because its been underrated by both the general audience (ie sales flop) and the pop fans (calling it bad compared to Unwritten, which is so untrue).

Natasha is still the best Brit female act around IMO.
