June 19, 200817 yr Hmm judging by the odds i don't think i'm going to be voting for many of the favourites, my votes will probably look very different to everyone elses
June 19, 200817 yr The final result for Quotosibb is blamed on racism - 3/1 Damn that Terry Wogan. :arrr: The M.K.L., U.S.I., U.S.J. and Hitanya one is interesting too. But I just think they are fans of similar music on the whole. Hmm judging by the odds i don't think i'm going to be voting for many of the favourites, my votes will probably look very different to everyone elses  Don't worry about voting for the favourites at all, if we were guided by that it would be very predictable. :P
June 19, 200817 yr Author Damn that Terry Wogan. :arrr: The M.K.L., U.S.I., U.S.J. and Hitanya one is interesting too. But I just think they are fans of similar music on the whole. Well, at least there shan't be any hissies over Estelle giving 'the performance of her life' and still flopping if she does badly :heehee: And yes, David and I have been speculating about the possibility of voting blocs arising in this contest :o We're keeping an open mind thus far :smoke: Also, it wouldn't do us much good either as we seem to exchange votes frequently too :( :kink:
June 19, 200817 yr And yes, David and I have been speculating about the possibility of voting blocs arising in this contest :o We're keeping an open mind thus far :smoke: I don't think it'd be voting blocs really. It's like saying all the R&B fans are in a bloc, all the Indie fans are in a bloc etc. The only possible bloc I can think of is Quotosibb and Dulpaen because we're brothers and share a similar taste in music. Plus we give each other advice over our entries so we're bound to like each others songs really. Two people aren't really a bloc anyway. I don't know if Camtoro and Leonville are linked in any way either but they exchanged quite high points last time. I don't think there are any significant blocs that are affecting the results too badly. I think M.K.L., U.S.I. and U.S.J. have very good songs and I wouldn't be surprised if they exhcnaged votes anyway. If they were sending bad songs I could understand it being suspicious if they all exchanged votes. Edited June 19, 200817 yr by Adi_Gallia
June 19, 200817 yr You only have to look MKL's official Top 40 to know they've been popular prior to the comp :) Edited June 19, 200817 yr by Mikal™
June 19, 200817 yr You only have to look MKL's official Top 40 to know they've been popular prior to the comp :) Exactly, I think that 'group' just have similar tastes in music and it's not bloc voting at all.
June 19, 200817 yr If they were sending bad songs I could understand it being suspicious if they all exchanged votes. But what if they really thought the song was brilliant even though you though it was bad? I'd hate to be told I'm bloc voting just because I didn't vote for the "Great" songs in someone else's mind or that I voted for a song the majority thought was bad but I liked it. If they were sending bad songs I could understand it being suspicious if they all exchanged votes. I came to the conclusion that friendly voting plays a very small part, if one at all, in this contest - and that what we should be trying to avoid is getting to a point where there is a dominant preference for a particular genre/style of music (ignoring the dominant BJ electrofempop bias :P), at which point it could get very easy for someone to target a certain group purposefully for the sake of higher points. Hopefully we won't get to that stage for quite a while though, regardless of cynicism :heehee:
June 19, 200817 yr I didn't even know which song belonged to which country when I voted in my semi final. I just listened in Windows Media Player, and finally made my decision, before ferreting round to find the country to go with the points
June 19, 200817 yr Quotosibb are blatantly going to do a reverse Eledan and finish last. :( it's quite hard to predict, as a lot of people will have listened to all of the songs from the two semi's already, so it's the one unknown quantity for many people
June 19, 200817 yr Ceknet! Specials The winner receives more than 200 points - 14/1 Quotosibb do a 'reverse Eledan' - 50/1 Ashton win, fulfilling Rich's dark horse prophecy for the second time in a row - 12/1 Bhangra makes a fool of himself in the final thread - 3/1 Kopecka come last - 33/1 Kopecka come top 10 - Evens Kylienips plunge out of the 'Big 5' - 1/4 M.K.L., U.S.I., U.S.J. and Hitanya all exchange points - Evens Mdice and Kopecka exchange 12s - 5/1 The final result for Quotosibb is blamed on racism - 3/1 More as they come :smoke: hmm...if Ashton win, I actually will look into becoming a fortune teller :heehee: Kylienips will have NO points added to their final totals now in the stats thread as the semi results don't count, so it is quite possible they will plunge to 6th when I recompile the results after this contest :o is Ben really likely to give 12 points to Rachel Stevens :kink:
June 19, 200817 yr it's quite hard to predict, as a lot of people will have listened to all of the songs from the two semi's already, so it's the one unknown quantity for many people I guess so. I should be glad that it's unknown at the moment, but I'm not really. She's releasing it in a week or two, it should be in the charts - it's not taking off though. So on the one hand it's an advantage that it's not as huge as her last single, but it's bad for Estelle's career.

June 19, 200817 yr is Ben really likely to give 12 points to Rachel Stevens :kink: I wouldn't think so with Priceville sending a former represntative of Mdice. But we will see.

I honestly haven't heard the track anywhere other than this thread, not on the radio or on the tv...then again, I hadn't heard American Boy much before it shot to No.1 out of nowhere...perhaps Substitute Love will start to pick up airplay once it comes out
June 19, 200817 yr Well, I already know roughly where his 12 is going, given his love for a particular woman :P And he doth surprisingly love I Said Never Again, yes :o wow, Ben likes cheesy flop pop :o what a revelation :kink: to be honest, you could have entered most tracks from 'Come and Get It' and done well  what an incredible album, especially considering how generally weak Funky Dory was...
June 19, 200817 yr I wouldn't think so with Priceville sending a former represntative of Mdice. But we will see. of course, Imogen Heap! I was wondering who Trashley was talking about then!

June 19, 200817 yr I don't think I need to say where my 12 went in BJSC VI :kink: it wasn't Smack Me by any chance was it :heehee:
