Why...? Because they're such, fine, upstanding moral people yeah...?

It is not impossible yes but what politicians like above all else is power and the GOP bumping off Obama would for certain see a Democrat in the White House with a massive landslide as the sympathy vote would go to the Democrats so the GOP have nothing to gain having Obama bumped off unless of course they used it to cancel elections and declare a state of emergency thus keeping Bush in power but I have probably been watching too many movies lol but yeah just don't see what the GOP would gain bumping off Obama

Bin Laden was converted to anti America when Saudi Arabia let America use their soil to attack Iraq but the main reason for 9/11 was America's support of Israel over the Palestinians and Clinton (and indeed Obama recently) was a big supporter of Israel too so he is part culpable for 9/11

Clinton is not anything like as culpable as Bush Jr's admin though mate, not even close..... I somehow doubt Clinton or Gore would've sat back and just allowed this to happen on their watch.... I seriously doubt 9/11 would've happened under a Gore administration....

And you simply cannot get round the FACT that Bin Laden and the Mujahadeen were trained and funded by the CIA, and that Bin Laden himself stated that he admired the strong position the US Govt of the day took against the Soviets.. They were far from being enemies at that point..... The US became Bin Laden's enemy when the Republicans stabbed him in the back over Saudi Arabia/Kuwait...... Looking back now, don't you actually think it just MAY have been sensible just to let Bin Laden take care of Saddam.....? Would've saved us a lot of trouble just to let those two maybe kill each other or at the very least fight each other to a stalemate.....

Totally agree. Nevermind the frankly dubious claim that Bush/CIA carried out the 9/11 events. At this point there is little evidence beyond conspiracy. HOWEVER, that Bush knew fully well of the events and allowed them to take place is very possible, almost likely. Within hours of 9/11, the Bush administration was busy drafting the Patriot Act to expand the president's powers dramatically, within days he had launched a full scale invasion of Afghanistan and within months, the invasion of Iraq. All of these "reactions" to 9/11 were in fact on the drawing board BEFORE any terrorist attack in the US. Hell, they were a part of a foreign policy written and published back in the late 80's by Cheney, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld and Rove! Just the fact that Bush hired these facists in his administration (Clinton had sent them packing a decade earlier) should have been a clue that something was up.

It's all a bit too suspicious.

McCain unlike Bush is a distinguished military man who would not make the same military screw ups as Bush who was a draft dodger who got a cushy job in the Texas national guard

McCain is nothing like Bush, McCain has lead the way in the human rights of military and political prisoners, has been the leading advocate of banning torture of suspects, has frequently condemned Guantanamo Bay

McCain as a military commander would not make the botch jobs that Bush did

Frequently condemned torture and Guantanamo until last week. When the United States Supreme Court again ruled that Guantanamo prisoners are subject to habeas corpus, here was McCain's response:

"The United States Supreme Court yesterday rendered a decision which I think is one of the worst decisions in the history of this country," McCain said to applause from a crowd of supporters in New Jersey.

"Our first obligation is the safety and security of this nation and the men and women who defend it," he continued. "This decision will harm our ability to do that."

Sound familiar?

Well put Consie...

Care to continue your bumming of McCain Craig.....? :P

The man really IS just as bad as the lunatics who've been in charge of the asylum the past 8 years, this proves it for me once and for all. Leopards DONT change their spots..... The Rebublican Party is the cause of ALL America's ills over the past quarter century, going back to the days of Reagan and Bush Sr...... The Democrats may not be perfect, but they're an improvement.....

Reasons why McCain will win

1) He is promising tax cuts while Obama will need to raise taxes to fund his changes

2) Obama is black, there is still a lot of deep rooted racism in America particularly in southern and central states

3) McCain has 20 years of Senate experience and Obama has 3

4) The Republicans will play the Al Qaeda / national security card to scare people off from voting Obama

1) Obama is promising to end the war in Iraq which will save billions of dollars each month. McCain's tax record is absurd - he voted against the Bush tax cuts twice, claiming they were irresponsible in the face of SKYROCKETING federal spending and they only positively affected the rich (he was damned right!). And now, suddenly, he is FOR the same tax cuts and has called to make them permanent. Obama has admitted he would raise taxes for the rich and it hasn't lost him political capital. Besides, Americans are very worried about the terrifying deficit that Bush has created by cutting taxes and increasing spending (military spending) exponentially.

2) Any southern racist would have voted Republican anyway. They are they ultra-right. Race won't negatively affect this campaign.

3) McCain has more experience but he has run an embarassing campaign so far in the general election, ditching many of his previous stances (many of them noble, bipartisan, and courageous) for Bushisms. Gay marriage is up to the states but, oh, I will fight against them and civil unions. Cutting taxes and increasing spending is irresponsible, but I'm now for it anyway. War is terrible, so lets send thousands of more soldiers to Iraq and declare success. Torture should be illegal, except in Guantanamo. Campaign finance needs to be reformed, oh not anymore because I'm running for president and I need money. The religious right is dangerous, of except when I stand up with Rev. Hagee who has called for the execution of Catholics and gays. The economy is in trouble and needs help, so allow me to propose we do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT.

4) Absolutely no argument from me - they certainly will. And they will swiftboat Obama like they did Kerry. They will continue to spread false rumors that Obama is Muslim, that he studied under terrorists in Indonesia, that his mother in Kenya is connected to some violent anti-American terrorist group. Republicans are the most despicable people on earth and the only thing worse is a desperate republican. It will get ugly because they will make it ugly. But it won't work.

Obama is going to win in a landslide. Mark my words. It won't even be close. McCain will embarass himself in November.

This bit I agree with for sure, it would not surprise me if the KKK, a Timothy McVeigh type lunatic or even senior figures within his own party would like him bumped off

Wouldn't surprise me at all to hear he'd been shot. Can see the Clinton's arranging it even. :o I can even see the Secret Service being forewarned and "allowing it" :o

Hopefully Obama wins. While I think Hillary would've been alot better right now considering the state of the US economy, anything is better than the Bush clone that is McCain. He comes accross as being even more extreme than Bush by saying he would stay in Iraq for another 100 years. American needs a big change clearly, and choosing McCain is just going to make things worse imo. Tbh, I think Obama needs to pick Clinton as his Vice President. She got almost the same amount of votes as he did (soemthing huge like 18m), and I can see alot of her supporters voting for McCain. If you ask me, Jerry Springer was spot on when he said that Obama would be showing alot of strength by picking Hillary, as he would be basically saying he could controll her. Springer correctly pointed out that if things were the other way around, there would be outrage if Hillary did not pick Obama. If Obama is, as alot of people say, unfortunantly killed, it will be the Vice President who becomes president, so therefor Hillary should definatly get it considering it was almost a tie between the two of them. It is stupid that Obama (and McCain obviously) can just pick anyone as their VP without the people having their say imo.
I really hope Obama doesn't pick Hillary as she'd be constantly undermining him. He'd be looking over his shoulder all the time. She'd have even more reason to "arrange" something then, being a heartbeat or rifle shot away from the Presidency. :o

I don't trust Obama

Based on what, exactly....?

And you would actually trust a two-faced, hypocritical liar like Hillary Clinton or John McCain more....?

This is all the evidence you need to know why McCann should be in a nursing home for senile dementia, let alone to be fit to be President of the "most powerful nation of the world":

McCann making a (beyond sick) joke

Anyone who thinks otherwise is one or a combination of a war mongering racist, fascist, bigot.

The guy made a JOKE that is purely what it was, he did not make a policy statement there he made it in jest, if the best you can come up with is a joke from over 12 months ago to discredit him you must be desperate mate

Boris Johnson made some jokes at a dinner a year ago, does that make him unfit to be mayor ? course not

I didn't even want McCain to get the nomination, I was and still am a supporter of Mitt Romney despite his f***ed up religious views but McCain got the nomination and he is by far the lesser of the 2 evils

Obama will tax, tax, tax and tax again, he has no political experience to deal effectively with world issues and security matters, the guy will be a disaster, if he was a white man he would have been eliminated before even John Edwards based on his policies but he has mobilised black america behind him like a modern day MLK

As for Obama he himself has said he would attack Iran if they threatened Israel, he also said that he would bomb Pakistan if it was found they were sheltering Osama but hey just lets all concentrate on one joke from a year ago

totally inappropriate 'joke'.. but then again id expect nothing less from a fascist like you to support such a 'joke'

i wonder if a 'joke' about gassing jews would be as funny to you?, especially if it was told by the leader of iran...

It is no different to what Hillary and recently Obama have said, you can't put a hairs width between Hillary and McCain on Iran and Obama said the same thing recently that he would bomb Iran if they threatened Israel

There is not a leader in the Western world that wants Iran to have nukes

There is not a leader in the Western world that wants Iran to have nukes

theres not a leader in the oxident who wants the west to have nukes. (apart from israel who are practically another us state anyway)

i have little time for obama or liar clinton either, let alone bush.

McCain is the man that must become President

Obama is a fraud, a great orator probably the best political orator since Hitler but absolutely no substance or political experience that makes him qualified to be the most powerful man in the world

Obama's political experience is as a JUNIOR SENATOR, the guy is a freshman yet he is going to maybe be trusted with running the biggest economy on earth in the middle of a credit crunch and possible recession ? he is going to maybe be trusted with defending America from terrorists ? he is going to be trusted with protecting global security ? a guy that has 3 years of political experience ?

As Richard Littlejohn would say "you couldn't make it up"

McCain for President

Who says oratory skills arent part of being President? Churchill had nothing going for him apart from being a great orator, and yet, is considered one of the greatest PMs of all-time. If Americas economy goes really wrong, the world needs somone like Obama to lift the Americans spirits to keep productivity going. How is McCain going to inspire anyone?

Also, McCain has not the least bit of economic experience, even he admits that and his economic plan is a joke. Obama, while not having that much economic experience, would at least surround himself with people who DID, whereas I think McCain would be too arrogant to do that. And I would certainly trust Obama with protecting global security much sooner than I would McCain. McCain has a notoriously short temper, so diplomatic relations with "rogue states" is likely to get much worse, whereas Obama is more likely to endear himself by the fact he has promised talks with Iran without pre-conditions, and lets be honest, the Iranian leaders are probably more willing to negotiate with a black man.

I still think McCain will win and probably quite easily

Obama is merely leading because with the Republican race ending very early on he has had months of column inches in the media and people have been wowed by his speechmaking while McCain has had little or no airtime, that will change when the real race gets started, Obama will be under very strong scrutiny from the McCain camp about his policies and how he is going to fund them and I can see the wheels falling off the bandwagon when people realise that taxes will shoot up under Obama when he has to finance this "need for change" he talks about so smoothly, the time for posturing is over and soon Obama will have to explain where the money is coming from for this change he talks about so yes I see McCain winning this contest

Obama is a one trick pony, a brilliant speech maker but his lack of political experience at a volatile time for the world in terms of economy and security is a scary thought

I think Obama is going to pull away over the next few months. He is outrageously good at fundraising, whereas McCain is certainly not, and at the end of the day, money buys success in American politics. And Obama is going to wipe the floor with McCain in debates. Just imagine it: Obama will be calmly debating the issues, and McCain will be sitting there attacking him, looking like some senile granddad who forgot to take his medication.

Who says oratory skills arent part of being President? Churchill had nothing going for him apart from being a great orator, and yet, is considered one of the greatest PMs of all-time. Churchill lost a general election after the war, anyone who was PM during the war would have been popular, Churchill while a good speechmaker was a short tempered womanising alcoholic, he was a great speechmaker but I dispute him ever being a great PM as if he was he would have won post war election by a landslide

I think it would look bad to see Obama and the Iranian president sitting in the oval office or in Teheran drinking tea and smiling sweetly for journalists, it would be great PR for the Iranian president but make the west and Obama look weak, economic sanctions, trade embargo and complete ban on flights would be more effective than drinking tea with the Iranian president

The rest of what you say is pure speculation, no one knows who McCain will have in his cabinet if he got elected
