Posted June 21, 200817 yr Teacher was a paedophile A DERBY primary school teacher photographed himself raping a little girl and had thousands of indecent pictures on his computer. Among Neil Challis' collection of images were indecent photographs of two girls he took at schools where he worked. The 35-year-old, who has worked at 13 schools in Derbyshire, was arrested in January after his eight-year-old rape victim, who was not one of his pupils, told her parents. He had raped and sexually assaulted her since she was five years old, Derby Crown Court was told today. After the girl finally told her parents about the abuse, police arrested Challis, of Old Chester Road, Chester Green, and found 3,940 indecent images of young girls on his laptop. Article Continues EThe majority of the pictures had been downloaded from the internet, but they included photographs of Challis abusing the eight-year-old girl, and photographs taken up the skirts of two pupils at schools where he worked. Acting Detective Inspector Mark Knibbs, of Derbyshire police's public protection unit, was the senior investigating officer in the case. He said: “Without her being so brave, there's every chance he would still be teaching in a school in Derby probably looking for his next victim.” “I have never before dealt with a person this bad – in terms of what he did and the way he went about doing it. “He is a manipulative, predatory paedophile.” Det Insp Knibbs said he believed Challis only became a teacher because it would allow him to try to groom other children, although there was no evidence he physically sexually assaulted any of his pupils. Challis pleaded guilty to 14 charges of rape, sexual assault, taking indecent pictures and possessing indecent pictures. He is due to be sentenced next week. Education authorities today said they had informed parents about the case.. They said Challis had been the subject of a criminal records check before being employed, but because he had committed no previous offences, it did not show up anything suspicious. Police have contacted the parents of the two girls who were photographed at their school. But the girls have not been told. Det Insp Knibbs said the police were “99.9 % sure” that there were no other victims. He said Challis' rape victim had been extremely brave and had been videoed for hours while she relayed her evidence. He said: “It was a long process – after years, there's lots to tell. And because she's a child and has a short attention span we didn't want to video her for long periods at a time.” scource... derby telegraph. what upset me was the report on how the victim was behaving, " her mother said 'the way she told us was horrific, i had to hold her on the floor to stop her hurting herself. she was shouting and raving. she has to re-live what he did to her every night, she talks about things that happened to her and she cries. shes written things down like 'i wish he was in hell he is the nastiest most horrible man ive ever met'.. she cannot concentrate on her schoolwork and is way behind... " how can i concentrate mummy when what he did is in my head"... this little girls life has been ruined. the mental scars will probably never be healed. she pushes away her brother and parents. HOW TF COULD ANY SANE PERSON INFLICT SUCH TERROR ON AN INNOCENT LITTLE GIRL? is beyond me.... although one person here would claim that it was pre-destined and it was gods will... MY ARSE.
June 21, 200817 yr Fukking sick! People like that just deserve to die, yet it wouldn't surprise me if he came out with a really short prison penalty.
June 21, 200817 yr Terrible. How many like him have actually slipped through the Net because a child's kept quiet and are actually working in schools? Checks only show convictions remember. Edited June 22, 200817 yr by Crazy Chris
June 21, 200817 yr Author Terrible. How maNy like him have actually slipped through the Net because a child's kept quiet and are actually working in schools? Checks only show convictions remember. EXACTLY.... this is disturbing because im certain many kids have/are suffering in solitude. unfortunately unless any complaint is ever made, or if theres no damning evidence off the internet (like subscriptions to p**** sites) then many go undetected. theres no way of discovering these people who do undoubtedly exist.
June 21, 200817 yr Makes you really wonder how many more are lurking out there in our schools, scary thought.
June 21, 200817 yr Author Makes you really wonder how many more are lurking out there in our schools, scary thought. exactly.... but whats the balance between being knowlegeable and wary... to being a character of 'paedogedden'?... lol.. we cant go around all supersticiously suspecting everyone, but we have to be aware... its a no win situation as i see it, the clever/evil are getting away with it and theres fcuk al we can do...
June 21, 200817 yr This is truly an awful case, that monster has taken away that little girl's childhood and harmed her for life. Thanks to that little girl's bravery, at least he's not harming any others. They should lock him in prison and throw away the key. It is worrying as to how many other paedophiles are working in our schools or with young people in general. Police checks are carried out on anyone applying to work with children, but, as has been said, if they haven't got a police record......
