it was requested by someone else (Brunoboi) to collect our thoughts, and there was this topic last time...

 

I don't and haven't created any rules for this contest, I'm merely the regular host :lol:

Essentially...if someone has said they will possibly use an artist, it is in incredibly bad taste to then go and choose them for yourselves, and it also leaves room for manipulation - as an example, if I had Serebro in my NF and their song was getting an incredibly good reception, without this rule someone could easily think to themselves 'oh, that's a good idea', and nip Serebro before my NF's finished knowing full well that the song is popular - in effect, they've stolen someone else's entry and done little work at all to find a successful entry :P If there's a clash at the same time as there was with Damon and I over Opium, that's when the race for official confirmation begins :kink:

yeah, we didn't have a thread like this when I last hosted it...I think perhaps 'the green room' is a sufficient enough area to discuss possibilities for your entries...

 

I was only following suit of Adi, as he had a temporary confirmation thread for BJSC7 and Brunoboi requested one for this time...

 

I am happy for it to be closed and all further discussion moved to 'the green room' if it makes things easier ^_^

It wasn't my idea for a temporary confirmation thread last time. I think Tyron made it because people were confused over who was using who. I think Chanelle Hayes was in about 3 NFs (and she didn't win in a single one), Rachel Stevens was in two NFs there were a few more too. People weren't really paying attention to who others were using in their NFs or whatever so artists were being used by multiple people.

 

But people don't seem to pay attention to this thread either with the whole Mart!n/Addy!/Jack and PhillyWilly/brunoboi issue. (though the second issue was Phil "reserving" Mutya for the contest after this)

yeah, I think personally 'the green room' is sufficient as well as people's own national final threads...the only other thing to do is to open the official confirmation thread straight away, but then people might get bored of the songs they send a month later when the contest is held and not want to send them...at least this way we get a few weeks thinking time over our entries

I'll keep on trying to send original, unique songs...but it's very risky. I don't mind if I'm at the last place or I don't qualify from the semi. If it happens I'll look for a better song. That's all. But if at least one person like my entry then it worth :)

Erm, well if you hadn't noticed I did just say earlier that Ace of Base cannot be entered for him, so I don't really see what throwing a strop will achieve...
