Posted June 25, 200817 yr A while back, MusicWeek printed an article stating Madonna would be releasing her final greatest hits set for warner. Is this still on the cards for later this year with the current promotion for Hard Candy?
June 25, 200817 yr I not sure when it is due to be honest, but i'd imagine either just before Christmas (to get the sales) or about march time which is a year after HC. Warners better not mess it up like they did with GHV2 though :unsure: but no doubt they will :cry: i can imagine it now, no Ray of Light, No Vogue, No Like a Prayer... June 25, 200817 yr I only heard about the Greatest Hits, I didn't have a clue about rumours of the release date.
June 25, 200817 yr Firstly, Warners WILL INDEED mess the Greatets Hits release! I mean of course they will! Even FOX NEWS ran an article today about how badly Warners have treated Hard Candy!! They can't handle the fact that M is leaving them for Live Nation and as a result, they're just sulking and screwing her up just before she leaves! I hope a Greatest Hits album won't come out this Christmas, i want HC to have maximum sales from the tour and the Christmas period, i don't want a Hits CD to ruin sales. Hopefully, Madonna will consider a spring 2009 release with better promotion from herself!!

June 25, 200816 yr Agreed it just be delayed until 2009, otherwise Hard Candy won't get a tour/xmas sales push. You would assume the hits package will be a definitive collection spanning her whole career. But I won't hold my breath.

June 26, 200816 yr i'm hoping for this really posh 2xCD (and maybe a 3cd+DVD special edition) set with loads of hits (they need to fill the discs up, not leave them half empty and miss songs off like they did with GHV2 :( ) maybe a few new songs/singles to go with it, new unheard alternative versions (like the human nature one on youtube) and some new photoshoots too :wub: In reality i'm expecting a repackaged IC, GHV2 and a new halfhearted CD with just her hits from American Life to now. What i would love would be for them to re-issue her biggest singles like Michael Jackson and Elvis did.

June 26, 200816 yr No one knows at this stage but i persoanlly would love a full on hits collection with all her hits with Sire/Warners from 1982 to 2008. Including tracks that were left off IC like Everybody, Dress you Up, Who's that Girl and Causing a Commotion! Couples with a few previously unreleased ones and yes, a new song and photoshoot! But this is Warners and Madonna is leaving them which means it'll be $h!t and Madonna won't care cos' she'll be too busy promoting a new childrens book!
June 29, 200816 yr I think she should wait till November 2009 at least before releasing a GH with a stormer single to promote it, best time for it really ^_^ Leave it out this year and focus on Hard Candy.
June 29, 200816 yr I doubt the album would get such a late release next year. I imagine Live Nation would want an album out by Spring 2010 at the very latest.

Just make a Greatest Hits CD of your own with all the songs you think should be on there and there ya go....YOUR OWN GREATEST HITS CD!!

It isn't like we all don't have every song of hers in our IPODS already. Just make a Greatest Hits CD of your own with all the songs you think should be on there and there ya go....YOUR OWN GREATEST HITS CD!! :lol: i tried doing that last night but all her hits spread onto 4 CDs. i tried condensing it to 2 but it was so hard. July 25, 200816 yr Was GHV2 such a screw up? I really liked it- shocked its sold so much less than IC and is constantly outsold by it year on year. You'd think people would prefer to pick up her more recent stuff and they're both cheap now!
