Yeah, tracks like 'Seventeen' and 'Destroy Everything You Touch' are cool.
Ladytron are fabulous... they can be hit and miss live, but as a recording band - faultless.

I agree, they bored me sh!tless when I saw them supporting Nine Inch Nails, a total contrast to NIN's support act on their previous tour, the excellent Dresden Dolls (RIP unfortunately :( ).... But on album, brilliant.... Shame they cant seem to reproduce it in a live setting....

i love Destroy Everything You Touch

Nice tune, but listen to the "Velocifero" stuff, best album they've done I reckon... Blows "Witching Hour" away IMO.....

Huge 'Tron fan. Off to see them again on the 16th July at the Astoria. Last gig was canceled mid-set due to the mixing deck f***ing up. They were quite exceptionally good up until that point imo :o

Perhaps in 'Velocifero' they have crafted an album that they are capable of performing gloriously in a live setting.

Big Ladytron fan here! B)

I like all their albums but my absolute fave is Witching Hour.

Favorite songs? Discotraxx, Playgirl, Commodore Rock, Paco, Seventeen, Evil, Blue Jeans, Turn It On, Re:Agents, Sugar, Destroy Everything You Touch, International Dateline, Beauty * 2, All the Way, Ghosts, Burning Up, Versus, Tomorrow, I'm Not Scared, Kletva and so on.

In fact every Ladytron song is interesting and very very well crafted.

With three singers in the band (Helen, Mira and rarely Daniel) you can't be bored by their songs. I love the angelic voice of Helen!

They are Kraftwerk with soul :P

Velocifero seems to be the "light side" of Witching Hour.

I think it's their second best (after WH of course).

They avoid to use samples and other pre-recorded sounds and play everything live (with some old analogue synths)

That means quite harsh live sound and quite different from the slick versions from their albums.

And the singers are also keyboard players (at the same time). Quite difficult IMO.

Maybe they should do something like The Chemical Brothers or Underworld live performances... :P

Anyway they improved their live shows since Velocifero (check youtube)

PS a nice pic of the band (Mira Aroyo, Daniel Hunt, Helen Marnie, Reuben Wu):
