Due for release Summer 09. It was only a matter time of time that Hasbro would work down the ladder of their popular lines after the success of the Transformers movie. I myself am really looking forward to this! I loved the cartoon series and animated movie as a child. I see this film getting the X-Men treatment. As in certain things are changed and made less colourful for the film adaption.

It is being directed by Stephen Sommers (The Mummy/ Returns, Van Helsing). There isn't even a teaser trailer as yet sadly.

Anyone excited to see this?

Right. I never quite got that. When Hasbro aquiried the rights to Sindy they also rebranded her in america as "Maxie". Thanks for explaining

I thought "Action Force" was a UK rebrand of 'GI Joe' as well.... I remember an "Action Force" comic in the 80s, which was basically just a British reprinting of the US GI Joe comics....

Its rather confusing. lol. I think the actual Gi Joe animated movie and cartoon may have been the same but they changed the theme and certain aspects of the dialogue to make it less american for the europeans.

It was, cos when I was a kid I had some of the original "Action Force" stuff, then it changed..... I never realised back then that it changed cos Hasbro bought out the company that made "Action Force" and "Action Man" though.....

hmm.. that seems just a bit before my time, i did grow up with Action Man though, it seems pretty much the same though it even says...

Action Force was a range of comic book characters and action figures initially based on Action Man.

i only thought G.I Joe was the same as Action Man becuase in Empire magazine it said that G.I Joe was rebranded Action Man in the UK.

Sienna Miller is one pretty cr@p actress tbh.... Still, I dont think the role of The Baronness is gonna stretch anyone though.... I think Rhona Mitra would've been a better pick myself though, I dont really see Sienna Miller being good at the actual action stuff....

Chris Eccleston's involvement is also pretty cool.. Dennis Quade is a pretty good pick as well...

I think Sienna's part will just be to look good at. Im thinking she'll deliver what Kate Bosworth did in Superman Returns. Nothing really special. She'll look the part, not act the part. Well actually she looked like a kid trying to play dress up in a womens clothing but whatever.

Kate Bosworth's involvement in Superman Returns was just truly pathetic.... Even moreso than Brandon Routh...

The point I boldened was pretty much what I thought.... I was just thinking "WTF??? An experienced journalist with years in the field??? Jeez, girl, you dont even look old enough to order drinks or smoke legally.....".

I think "Superman Returns" wanted to be both a sequel and a remake of the 1978 movie. So with that in mind I think Routh was cast as a Christopher reeve lookalike. Kate Bosworth was completly mis cast. She didn't and couldn't deliver the attitude, experience or sassyness of Margot Kidder's Louis Lane.

  • 1 year later...

Sorry for bumping this.

It's going to be released in 7th of August in UK. :)

The other trailers are using my favourite tune, Undead by Hollywood Undead.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jq13uupxVW4

I've seen a few trailers for this it looks pretty pants in some places and too far fetched, I've seen better movies than this

The trailers look samey for me. I don't think this will be good, unless it gets good reception.

Scarlett's hair isn't red enough....

Frankly I found it hard to distinguish her publicity shots from The Baronness... They both kinda look the same and basically both wear fetishy black rubber.....

This might be one of these films that is "so rubbish it's actually hilarious".... TBH, I expect nothing from this but the usual brain-dead sort of action fare, but even then it'll probably still be a better film than Terminator Salvation......

  • 4 weeks later...

Has anyone actually seen this? What a pile of cheesy, OTT $h!te :( If you like a film which blows lots of things up, this is it, if you want a good film, look somewhere else...

I'm surprised this managed to draw people like Dennis Quaid, Jonathan Pryce, Brendan Fraser, Christopher Eccleston etc. tbh. Big names which really shouldn't have their reputations tarnished like this :heehee:

I enjoyed it for what it was. It's not amazing but it was good fun. :) Loved Sienna Miller, she looks better with dark hair IMO and I thought she acted well.
