Shannon is on board now for sure!

Perezhilton.com:

According to the CW, Brenda is now a famous director who's invited back to stage a musical at her alma mater, the network said Saturday.

In the original series, Doherty's character was last seen bound for London to study acting.

She became a "successful theater actress, splitting her time between London and New York," a CW release explained.

She then found equal success as a theater director — and her old school asks her to return as a guest director.

This sounds good and all BUT it doesn't sound like they're giving her much to work with.

How can they sustain her role like that????

f***ing Kelly Taylor is the school's guidance counselor - she has a real reason to be there for many seasons!

They better not let Brenda go after a few episodes!!!!!!

'9021-Oh!' CW Unveils Promo Campaign

July 25, 2008 12:18 PM

The CW has a lot riding on ‘90210,’ which debuts Sept. 2. While the network is partly counting on nostalgia for the show’s predecessor, “Beverly Hills 90210,” to pull in viewers, it’s also betting on the hotties in the program’s young cast to create a hit.

The network is getting ready to launch its marketing campaign for ‘90210,’ which will feature this billboard, along with similarly themed print ads. The graphics may provide the most graphic look at the cast that the world has gotten so far.

I hear E4 have bought it in the UK , any news ?

I think that the show would of got a lot of a bigger promotion if it was on FOX as it was the original "Beverly Hills 90210" home so i would have hoped it would air on that network , I don't think it will pull as high as "90210" did i predict a high premier but then slowley decline.

Premier = 4.4m (My Prediction)

End Of Season Average = 2.2m (My Prediction)

It would be cool if it was on E4. Although I am still yet to hear of where its being aired in the UK.

The fact that it isn't on Fox already takes away millions of potential viwers. The CW's most successfull shows dont average more than 7 mill. Yet the original 90210 would draw in anything up to 18 million viwers on FOX! This show could really just be One Tree Hill part 2 but with a name that relies on nostalgia. I hope it is amazing though! And I cant wait to see the return of some of the old charactors and plus if they keep the same cheesy famous intro credits

E4 will probably have it. I can imagine a Teen Night coming up on E4. One Tree Hill and 90210.

My Season 4 Is Hoping To Come Tomorrow !!

I think that may be the best season. Season 4 and 5. It was at its peak!

I just watched the season premiere and...

I liked it. Allot!

In a nutshell it was part original 90210, mean girls and the o.c rolled into one.

I like how there were many nods and references to the original show that only older fans will pick up on. I liked how the returning cast members and adults in the show are not just in the background but actually have story lines to. And the new kids of the show aren't half bad either.

OH, and I got chills upon Shannon's arrival! Although I did expect her to have more screen time. Jennie Garth was in many scenes. I get the feeling its Jennie who is going to have more screen time in the show

Everyone needs to watch this!

The girls in this are like bitches after bitches. Thank the lord for Silver then... Cant believe the writers thought they could pass them off for 15/16 year olds  Some funny moments and such but for me, ill stick to One Tree Hill as 90210 doesnt exactly distinguish itself from The OC... Ill continue watching though...

Im glad they didnt just do Beverlly Hills 90210 Season 11. They made a new show with links to the old one. I liked Annie and Dixon Mills. Very likeable. They're closeness does remind me that of Brenda and Brendon of the original show. I think Kelly Taylor (Jennie Garth) will be more apart of the show than Brenda (Shannon Doherty). Her charactor just seems to have more ties to everyone. And with her being the guidance councellor and also Silver's sister. Which was also another interesting thing because Silver was born in season 3 of the original 90210. All these connections and links and seeing what happend to the charactors is all really cool.

Only thing I didn't take to was the new peach pitt  Its nothing on the original.

I hope it lives up and is a good show. And I hope they give Shannen more to work with.

The new 90210 did remind me of the O.C! I think it was all the musical que's and how they were edited together.

Im sorry but as much as i wanted to like this, 90210 doesnt do much for me. Silver is the best character so far mainly cos she wont be crying if daddy doesnt buy her the latest Mercedes. And thats what annoys me about the other characters. I did like Annie though she reminded me a bit of Lindsay Lohan in Mean Girls. I think that they have set up the season well with the first episode and like i said, i will continue to watch this just to see if it was worth bringing it back

I think pilots are always a bit difficult especially if the show just basically revolves around relationships and charactor interaction. Because its hard to care about charactors you dont know much about. Its only been one episode. But even with the dumb rich kids - there seems to something more behind. Look at Naomi. She seems brighter than she lets on but comes accross as just your typical spoilt rich b**ch. And the headmaster knows it. And even with that druggy girl. Some of the charactor's seem a bit cliche and 2 dimensional now but there does seem to be some substance behind them that's coming out in the writing bit by bit.

And like I said, it has only been one episode. Soo I guess We'll see.

  • 1 month later...

I've seen 7 episodes so far. It's pretty much like OC and OTH but I like the fact some of the old characters are back and like someone already said, they're not just in the background but have a more important role in the show.

I like Annie although sometimes I think she smiiiiiiiiles to much :D :D :D Love her bro and Silver together  who is the best character in the show  I suppose Naomi will become a better person now that she has realized what her family is like and that she was making fun of everyone else for the same reason...

I have to say I wasn't into the new 90210 at the beginning but after the 3rd episode I liked it :heehee: I don't really look at it as the new old Beverly Hills 90210... It's just a new teenage tv soap to me haha

Nat, Kel, her mom and Brenda all look so old :o I hate it when they try to make them look 20 years younger, it sooo doesn't work. The same is with the rest of the characters. The students should all be 16 and the actors are aged 19 to 25

I am loving this show. It is basically the O.C meets BH90210. The arc between the charactors has really grown in just the spae of 7 episodes and I love how the original cast members have a script to work of to and their own sub plots. Im dieing to see how to Dylan, Brenda and Kelly thing unfolds. I think my fave charactor's are Silver and Naomi. At first I thought Naomi was just your typical boaring plasticy b**ch but the charactor has really grown in such a short time and you really feel for her
