and is the ultimate Fly set worth getting (with this and also the david cronenburg version) or is it worth waiting for the remake to come out?

I don't know but they sound like the sort of films on the Horror Channel. :lol:

Out of all the films you've mentioned i've only seen The Fly but it's the one with Jeff Goldblum in it so i think that may be the cronenburg version, is there a remake of it comming out? if there is it's probably going to be poor.

Oh and i saw the remake of The Thing with Curt Ruselle in it, and it turned out not to be as good as i thought (apperantly it was gory but i didn't find it that gory)

I actually preferred Carpenter's "The Thing" and Cronenberg's "The Fly" to the originals, both films really had an idea of how to crank up tension and genuinely terrify an audience (but then, Carpenter and Cronenberg are incredibly skillful film-makers who understand the dynamics of horror, unlike some of the hacks involved in recent remakes....) and the way both films use SFX is incredibly effective and actually adds to the film rather than takes away...

If you haven't seen the blob then you have to watch it for an early performance from a youn "Steve McQueen" :) .

I've seen both versions of The Blob, the original is fun, I thought the remake was utter pants, but that was probably down to not having a known or skillful horror director in charge of things like with The Fly and The Thing remakes...
