Not Falling Apart: Legality Charges….

Not Falling Apart began its life as an early recording from the band; back when they were known as ‘Kara’s Flowers’. The song first surfaced in 1997 when it was written by Adam Levine and fellow band member Jesse Carmichael. It is thought to have been written to feature of the band’s second independent album, ‘Stagg Street Recordings’. The song is dynamically merged with the rare song by the band, ‘Myself’. It has been proven that former band member, ‘Ryan Dusick’ added backing playing and a drum beat to the original version of the song back in 1997 yet his part was infamously removed and replaced for the 2007 version of the song without a second guess. (The 2007 version referring the updated edition of the song to appear on Maroon 5’s second album, ‘It Won’t Be Soon before Long’) Ryan Dusick has spoken about how he feels a sense of neglect by fellow band mates, he was an influential and in his words, played the biggest part of the band, back in the early days. Not Falling Apart was supposedly one of his favourite songs and feels that the new version removes his genius touch to the song. Ryan Dusick left Maroon 5 during their first international tour due to personal reasons and now feels completely shunned as contact has been most minimal within the last year. Ryan Dusick has looked into taking legal charges against the rest of the band as he wants credit for the original version and feels it was necessary that he should have had a say in whether or not his part was removed. Some avid fans are speculating this is the initial reasons to as why Not Falling Apart was never released as a single from ‘It Won’t Be Soong Before Long’ despite being a fan favourite.

The only way to react to this is laugh -_-. Not Falling Apart was recorded with Ryan Dusick but that was the ‘Myself’ version. ‘Myself’ was the standalone song, ‘Not Falling Apart’ was the largely edited version of ‘Myself’. Quite frankly Ryan Dusick won’t get anything out of the band as they never did anything wrong. They re-wrote a song and added a different slightly beat and different riffs. Plus all six of them were photographed together last summer so the no communication is a slight exaggeration. Oh and finally, why complain about something over a year later!? He just wants some attention for his new band. Blah, Ryan Dusick has gone down in my estimations.

Hmm... I suppose it depends how you look at it. If you ripped the song apart, it would be considered the same song though it does seem pointless bringing the matter up as it is a completely different version of the song. ;)

Just a little update on the situation... Looks like they are pointlessly going to court after all. -_-

Ryan Dusick takes it too far…

Angered Ex-Maroon 5 member, Ryan Dusick, has proclaimed in suing his ex-band mates over a previously recorded song. ‘Myself’, the song in question, was written by Adam Levine and Ryan Dusick back in 1996 for the band’s second album at the time. Consequently, a decade later, was re-recorded and edited for Maroon 5’s second album, ‘It Won’t Be Soon Before Long’.

This has lead Ryan Dusick to pursue in taking legal action for his rights to the song. The 2007 version of the song which was re-titled ‘Not Falling Apart’ removed all traces of Ryan Dusick’s presence from the original without a second guess. A representative for Dusick has released the following statement; ‘As a team we are profoundly outraged at the situation and plan on getting Dusick what he rightfully deserves. Why should others get credit when ultimately it is Dusick’s song?’

Maroon 5 have yet to say a word on the situation though rumour has it that the band have been avoiding anything to do with Dusick and his representatives. Dusick plans to take Adam Levine to court over the matter as well as producer of the song, ‘Mike Elizondo’.

I suppose it does gain some atention though. Plus if you are in the wrong, it is only right you should get sued. :P

Didn't Avril win her case though? That was the one over Girlfriend, I think?

I think it's the media coverage they sue for sometimes. -_- If they are in the wrong, yes..they should be sued..but a lot of things I read are really ridiculous..I think Avril did, yes.

Completely off topic contextually but have you ever watched Judge Judy? On there they sue each other over the most ridiculous things.
