Posted July 8, 200818 yr http://images.digitalspy.co.uk/showbiz/library/160x120_jamelia01.jpg R&B star Jamelia is celebrating after Pharrell Williams asked if he could work on her next album. The singer, who is best known for her hit single 'Superstar', met Pharrell at a party last week and was approached by his team shortly afterwards. A source told The Mirror: "The pair met at the F1 bash in London last week and hit it off. His people asked her to discuss working on her next album. She was very flattered." Jamelia tied the knot with her long-term partner Darren Byfield last month.
July 8, 200818 yr I can't wait for this next CD. She's being very hush-hush about it, which I don't like. I mean, she's like that anyway with her projects. She tries to keep public appearances to a minimal and says she doesn't listen to music when she's working on her own material because she wants it to be original and fresh. But still...I'm really excited. Mama J is going to do big things (hopefully) with this next project. SOOO...She's worked with Shea Taylor and Scyience, who have all produced hits for Rihanna, Beyoncé, Mary J, Janet Jackson, Jay-Z and John Legend and now she's got Pharrell on board... This is going to be a hot album.
July 8, 200818 yr Her old label said she could NOT work with big-named producers simply because they cost too much. Before she began writing & recording 'Walk With Me', there were rumours that she would be working with Missy and Darkchild on the album, but those plans were scrapped because the label told her 'f*ck that shiiiit'. She said now she is free, she can work with whoever she chooses and fans can expect "the REAL Jamelia" this time round.
July 18, 200818 yr i think if she's promoted & supported right, then she will do. the music needs to be hot, too, but i have no doubt about that. also, some people say jamelia's "beef with leona" is the reason she bombed with the last project...but i don't think that's the case, because she bombed all around the world before they even knew who leona was... nah, i think the label just f*cked up. we'll see how this one pans out. as long as the music is on point, i'm good.
