Still, another thing to remember about what a "marvellous" job that Attila The Hen did is that during her rule she gained £46.5 billion in oil reserves from the North Sea (No wonder the Scots hate her).

Exactly... I mean, could you imagine even two thirds of that £46.5 billion actually invested into Scottish infrastructure in the 80s....? Scotland with its small population would indeed be a wealthy nation in every sense, maybe not quite up to the scale of UAE or Oman, but still, the many would've certainly benefitted.... But Thatch snatched it all to pay for tax breaks for the rich few..... <_<

Holyrood isn't wonderful but I don't think any Westminster government would ever be able to so blatantly exploit Scotland's resources. England may have to actually house some of the things her politicians previously dumped on the Celtic Home Countries and rely on her own natural renewable energy for example.

Scotland also became a target for the Cold War when the Americans were given Holy Loch as a base and today we've still got Faslane. I'm sure our one Secretary of State (nowadays part-time) Secretary of State must have been such an influence in those decisions.

On a lighter note, another reason to remember Margaret Thatcher which I was reminded of again last night was this hideously unfunny sketch written by the former female dictator Prime Minister:

Yes Minister - Thatcher Script

Say what you like about Tony B-Liar but at least he never had the nerve to write a song for Oasis and then get them to perform it with him on rhythm guitar

Very true mate.... And thank you for reminding us of this absolutely toe-curling incident...... Dear or dear.....

Speaking of The Maggie,

On the day before the Glasgow East by-election the SNP distributed a campaign leaflet into the most deprived areas with a lovely photo of Gordon Broon posing beside Mrs T at Downing St last year. Apparently the photo had the desired effect
