Sure...

The Album at No.35, in the 'Artist' Chart, is the London STAGE Cast

CD, from November 1999 - it reached No.56 at the time, & Charted

for just 2 Weeks.

It is Re-Charting now, due to the Promotion regarding the

Film - hence No.66 to No.35, this Week. The Film Soundtrack

is No.1 in the Compilation Chart, & it is the No.2 Best Selling

Album, if you combine both Charts. The OCC would not let it

into the Artist Chart. They would have done had it been

Credited to Meryl Streep & Various Artists - just as they

let 'Evita' into the Artist Chart, in 1996. That was Credited

to Madonna & Various Artists.....

As quoted by Orthon7/Zeuss

The OCC allows STAGE Cast Albums into the 'Artist' Chart, because

their Rules say it is OK. (I do not make the Rules, I just know them).

As a contrast, Film Soundtracks are regarded as 'Various Artist' Albums

- unless they are Credited to one Act, ('Titanic' - James Horner in 1998),

or to 1 Act & Various Artists. ('Evita' - Madonna & Various Artists in 1996).

Had Universal Credited the 'Mamma Mia!' Film Soundtrack to Meryl Streep

& Various Artists, it would have been No.2 in the 'Artist' Chart, this Week.

In ten days, it'll be two YEARS since this was released. So who the f*** has only just noticed it? (The same applies for Valerie, Apologize and Numb/Encore.)

Thanks to all who answered. I understand even if it doesn't quite make sense!
