Paul McCartney And Michael Jackson - Say Say Say

Well done...It was a long time ago..

What happened was:

It charted at 25 but the video hadn't been completed. After climbing to No.10 it was announced at the end of that weeks TOTP (by Janice Long if I remember correctly) that the vid exclusive would be shown next week. As it happened the single dropped and TOTP's rules in those days stated that if a single went down the chart, it wasn't eligable to be on!!!

By the time Say Say Say had dropped to 14, the video was complete and was exclusively shown on Noel Edmonds highly popular Saturday night BBC show "The Late Late Breakfast Show".....The single climbed back from 14-3 and eventually peaked at No.2 (Takes a gasp of air!) :o

Living Joy - "Dreamer"?

Nopes that only had a week at No1, in fact only one No1 in 1995 had 3 weeks at No1. ;)

Take That - "Back for good"?

Memories...

Livin' Joy knocked "Some Might Say" off the top because Oasis put out the 12 Inch of SMS in the second week and those sales were disquallified from the chart as they had too many formats out at the time (7 Inch single, Cassette single and CD.)

That's why Some Might Say charts 1 week later in the low 70's with 12' sales only! :(

George Harrison - All those years ago, have often wondered why the strange chart run!

Speaking of which, it's always been a mystery why this had the solitary week in the Top 10!

Well done...The reason for the strange chart run was: TOTP had no vid at the time when it charted. They played out with it though with the audience havin a dance! It subsequently went down and never really recovered.

A fab Tribute to John Lennon it reached No.2 in America!! :yahoo:

Check out the American Vid. Do a Youtube search on "George Harrison All Those Years Ago" Bit weepy!! :(
