Towards the end of the night, a cocktail-sipping Turner told the crowd he was playing a "new one with a Les Paul" before performing 'Go-Kart'.

Very nice. :o

Not long at all now... shouldn't be too long before they start announcing a few gigs! :D I'm very interested to hear some of these new songs though. I wonder if anyone will have uplaoded them to YouTube?

Yes they have :P

Though as expected you can't make much of it out from it... And yes it looks like Alex is playing a black Les Paul :o

Strong Rumour on efestivals for Reading and Leeds now, i was 99% sure before so now im like 99.9% sure, should be a good one imo, i'll proberly see them.

How 'Slash' like :o

The song sounds good (heavy, to).

Is hard to make out much about the song, but it does sound pretty good.

Wtf is up with Alex's hair tho? Shorter hair suits him much better.

78% done! :w00t:

Arctic Monkeys have revealed that they have nearly completed their forthcoming third album.

Frontman Alex Turner said he was "thrilled" with the band's efforts so far, and said he hoped to release the follow-up to 2007's 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' this summer.

"We're going to have a new album with you by the summer I think," he told Australian network Triple J. "[it's]78 per cent is done, I have been working in fractions actually – two thirds. [i'm] thrilled with it."

Turner went on to talk about recent recording sessions the band held with Queens Of The Stone Age's Josh Homme near the Joshua Tree National Park in California.

"It's been great fun," he said. "We went out to the desert for a little bit, we did two sessions with Josh, we had a great time.

"There's a few other buildings around there but it is certainly cut off. The guy who owns it is called Dave Catching, who plays guitar in the Eagles Of Death Metal, and it's his house. He was a great host.

"It's quite an inspiring place, there's a certain element of dust in the sound of it."

Arctic Monkeys were recently announced as headliners for the forthcoming Oya festival, set to take place in Norway in August.

Arctic Monkeys recently debuted four new songs at while playing gigs in New Zealand.

YAYYYYAYAYAY.

I've been listening to them all night. Especially the performances at Glastonbury. I really cannot wait.

I found the link that Jonny posted on HM and am giving my first listen now  Sounds like a heavier version of FWN songs just like I expected!

Summer then ey! Should be good. I'm guessing the album will be finished within the next 2 months or so? Then all that needs to happen is Domino need to start the promo work before they can launch the album.

Anyway i'm dead excited all the same.

All the live songs are pretty hard to make out really, 'Go-Kart' sounds pretty fab mind.

I've only listened to two of them. My speakers on my laptop are pretty poor but I could barely make out the tune of the song let alone the lyrics, so i've not even bothered to hear the other two songs. From what I could make out though, some of the songs do sound a lot like a more darker version of the last album (which is what we were all expecting). I'm pretty hyped for a new album now, I just hope it's out June time, and not August!

I dont know why but all of a sudden im well excited for it, at the weekend i put all my artics on my laptop (havent had my laptop too long, thats why i didnt have them on there already ) and just been listening to them quite a bit recently, and i just have a feeling i'm gonna like this album even more than WPSIAIWIAN
Well I am liking the sound of them more and more every time I listen to them but the thing is this is Arctic Monkeys and if you can't hear the lyrics (which is what made them so good) then you really can't judge if it's any good yet
I must admit I haven't listened to the new live tracks, there's no point as I won't be able to make them out. But from what I've read, the sound is defiantly a lot more harder and darker, and plus Alex plays on a Les Paul, which makes it all a whole lot better.
