Posted June 2, 200619 yr Another little discussion,,which chart placing were you most surprised at when you first heard it,,im going by uk charts here,,it doesnt have to be the lowest or hightest placing and its albums or singles placings.. For me i was so disappointed when in your eyes went in at number 3 as at the lesat i was expecting number 2 especially as it was the follow up to the huge cant get you out of my head.. also i was disappointed that giving you up was number 3 in the mid week charts and then when anounced it missed the top 5 and landed at number 6,, Some kind of bliss,,well i knew it was never going to be huge as it was slated before its release,,got littlle air play so all the signs were bad but i had fully expected it to reach the top 20 even number 20 but sadly itwas number 22... The impossible princess album gave me a nice surprise as again the reviews over all were very poor and the singles well werent exactly her biggest hit and i remember been nervous looking at the chart and was so ahppy it had made the top 10,,, Kids was a single i was positive woul dbe a number 1,,kylie was really coming back and doing well and robbie williams was at his peak so i was shocked to landed at number 2 and my final one is body language,,,i was sure it would have been a top 5 album for her,,,again it was the follow up to a huge selling album,,slow had got to number 1,,,i knew it was a big week that week but number 5 was the lowest i expected it to chart
June 2, 200619 yr Good topic idea! I was quite disappointed when the chart position of 'In Your Eyes' was revealed, wasn't it at #2 all week in the midweeks and got knocked down to #3 at the last minute? I was quite shocked at how 'Body Language' charted and sold at the time, but I guess it was such a sharp departure in sound from 'Fever' that a lot of the people that bought her album decided to give this one a miss. Fantastic album IMO, no matter how much criticism it gets. 'Giving You Up' starting off top 3 in the midweeks, then getting robbed of a top 5 position at the week's end by 50 C*nt of all people. <_< On a brighter note, I was pleasantly surprised 'Chocolate' got as high as #6, I remember I was worried it might miss the top 10 that week and I was so relieved it exceeded my expectations.
June 2, 200619 yr Confide In Me deserved to be #1. Body Language deserved to struggle to make the Top 10. Some Kind of Bliss should have gone top 20 and Did It Again should have done better. Chocolate didn't deserve to make the Top 10 nor did Giving You Up.
June 2, 200619 yr Confide In Me is my all time best Kylie single, I was gutted it did not make No.1, one of her best singles to date.
June 2, 200619 yr Author although confide in me is one of my least fave kylie singles i was very disappointed to didnt get to number 1,,as it was a big big comeback for her at the time,,,, yes i was to worried that chocolate could miss the to p10 at the time and was over the moon it got number 6,,for 2 reasons one i wanted to to be a hit and 2 kylie was on track to equal the opening chart career she had of 13 consecutive top 10 hits so i wanted her to beat that,,as we know she is now level with that as i believe in you and giving you up made the top 10..so whenever the news ingle comes out she will beat that record as im positive whatever her next single is it will at th every very very least be a top 10 hit
June 2, 200619 yr Chocolate didn't deserve to make the Top 10 nor did Giving You Up. Mariah and 50 C*nt didn't deserve to be top 10 either in the week 'Giving You Up' was there.
June 2, 200619 yr Better The Devil You Know also should have been #1, that's a classic song, I'm sure even Queen Bitch would agree! Word Is Out ended the run of Top 10 hits and rightly so, that song is weak. There were four good songs released in a row and then WIO ended the run.
June 2, 200619 yr Better The Devil You Know also should have been #1, that's a classic song, I'm sure even Queen Bitch would agree! I remember Queen Bitch saying that even Steps did a better version of it. :( I wholeheartedly agree, both 'Better The Devil You Know' and 'On A Night Like This' deserved it, i'd happily exchange them with the dire 'Especially For You' and the even worse 'Tears On My Pilliow' to give both of those classic songs the #1 status.
June 2, 200619 yr I remember Queen Bitch saying that even Steps did a better version of it. :(
June 2, 200619 yr Both Kylie and Dannii seem to be cursed by the number 11: Finer Feelings and Wild Rose both peaked there in the UK and Dannii's $ucce$$ spent THREE weeks there back in 91! In Australia PYIMP and WDIHTD were #11 hits for Kylie while Dannii's AIWD and Needle both peaked there as well, she was so close to going Top 10 but just not close enough.
June 2, 200619 yr Confide in me is kylies best ever single and i think you won't forget about me is Dannii's even though alot of people do not like it.

'Put Yourself In My Place' definitely deserved to be top 10 in the UK, also ROBBED and had to settle for #11!
June 4, 200619 yr Author ya i would love to swap on a night like this for number 1 over tears on my pillow as i didnt and still dont like that song,,better the devil you know deserved number1 but to be fair its still of her biggest hits from the old days,,you still hear it on the radio the odd time and its a well known track from kylie;s older stuff,, Word is out indeed broke the run of top 10 hits and i was so surprised at the time as kylie always went top 10,,i didnt like the song much at the time but over the last few years it has really grew on me,,,,, I wonder wy rhythm of love charted at number 9 as all the singles done really well and kylie showed a new side to her at that particular time and it was a side that everyon eloved,,,,it is and was a brilliant album and at the lesat should have been a top 5 or even number 1 like the previous to,,, Breathe is the one kylie track that i feel was truly hard done by as i n it was released at at time when kylie wasnt that popular and it got no promtion,,,it so so deserved to be a top 10 hit,,,,i would to see a re release of that single,,,as had it been released in the 2000 +era it would have been a far bigger hit.
June 5, 200619 yr Author what do you think would be the least known kylie single,,,i think where is the feeling woul done of her singles that went very unnoticed,,its probably the only kylie single that i forget at times and also its her lowest chart run as it only managed 3 weeks on the top 75.. also from all kylie's duets offical as in a single what do you think is the best,,for me the best is where the wild roses grow,,that should also have been a far bigger hit,,here in ireland that track done evry well and at the time the people i worked with werent in any way kylie fans and they loved this they couldnt believe it was a kylie single
June 5, 200619 yr Breathe is the one kylie track that i feel was truly hard done by as i n it was released at at time when kylie wasnt that popular and it got no promtion,,,it so so deserved to be a top 10 hit,,,,i would to see a re release of that single,,,as had it been released in the 2000 +era it would have been a far bigger hit. 'Breathe' isn't that commercial to me, and considering all the factors you listed it did well to get to #14! I think 'Did It Again' was really hard done by, so amazing and by rights should have been a big hit, a great video too and it reached #14 just a couple of months prior to 'Breathe'.
June 5, 200619 yr Author did it again is one of my fave kylie video's,,i enjoyed all the impossible princess singles and all should have done better than they did,,also i dont need anyon eshould have been the 4th single of that album,,but from all of them breathe is the one i feel was hardest done by
June 5, 200619 yr 'I Don't Need Anyone' would have been the obvious choice if there was a 4th single lifted from it, but I'd have wanted 'Cowboy Style' as it's a divine track.
June 9, 200619 yr Author from all of kylie;s number 2 hits which song do you think was most denied of number 1 for me the main ones were loco motion,,better the devil you know and love at first sight,,,give me just a little more time was one i never expected to get so high but never felt it was denied number 1
June 9, 200619 yr I personally think Got to be certain, Je ne sais pas pourquoi, Wouldnt change a thing, Better the devil you know, Confide in me, On a night like this and I believe in you all sooooooooooooo deserved to be number 1. In fact they all prob in my top 10 songs of hers. Its so annoying. Plus as i always say PUT YOURSELF IN MY PLACE so hav so been number one i love it. And looking at your voting, you didnt even vote for it. BAD BOY lol.
June 9, 200619 yr Author well put yourself was never a fave of mine at all although i really enjoyed it on showgirl,,,,,i believe in you would have been number 1 only for band aid,,i think i believe in you is a kylie song that will be remembered and played for many many years
