Posted June 2, 200619 yr Sven-Goran Eriksson hinted that England would return to 4-4-2 for their final World Cup warm-up game on Saturday. Peter Crouch, who scored as a substitute against Hungary on Tuesday, starts up front alongside Michael Owen against Jamaica (kick-off 1400 BST). "We will play a little bit different tomorrow from Tuesday," Eriksson told a news conference on Friday. Gary Neville will miss the game because of a hamstring problem with Jamie Carragher likely to take his place Source: BBC Sport I think it was only logical that they'd play 4-4-2 tomorrow especially with Neville out and Crouch scoring great goal against Hungary, and the fact that Sven doesn't seem to rate Carrick. Rooney is looking more and more likely that he's gonna be fit for the World Cup at some stage as well after he was seen running and kicking a ball today :dancing:
June 2, 200619 yr so it will be this then ------------------------Robinson--------------------------- ---Carraghrer--------Terry--------Ferdinand-----------Cole ---Beckham---------Lampard------Gerrad-----------J.Cole -----------------------Owen--------Crouch-------------- Edited June 2, 200619 yr by Oasis
June 2, 200619 yr Author so it will be this then ------------------------Robinson--------------------------- ---Carraghrer--------Terry--------Ferdinand-----------Cole ---Beckham---------Lampard------Gerrad-----------J.Cole -----------------------Owen--------Crouch-------------- Yeah thats how they'll line up although the midfield will probably go into a diamond formation with Gerrard the more attcking midfielder and Lampard the more defensove midfielder.
June 2, 200619 yr Yay, finally Carragher will replace hargreaves although I also feel that Walcott should start up front with Owen. He needs to build up some more confidence ;) I reckon England are going to win 4-0 :winner:
June 2, 200619 yr It's encouraging to see Rooney with a football, but even if his bones heel, he won't be match fit for any of the world cup. I think he is good enough to be included as a latter stage super sub, let's hope he get's the all clear to go, I think we need him!
June 3, 200619 yr 3-0 to England, Gerrard, Crouch and for some reason I think Walcott will come on and get one :o
June 3, 200619 yr It has been confirmed from the England dressing room that both Ashley Cole & John Terry were taking off as a precaution. A good first half with a hat-trick of assists from David Beckham, Michael Owen scoring & Peter Crouch had an outstanding half.
