November 13, 200816 yr saw this last night i had high expectations as i thought Casino Royale was brilliant  i did feel a tad disappointed though the characters were just a big boring and underwhelming they needed to play the Bond girl in it more i was shocked she lasted all of 5 minutes ;) and the enemies were all a bit lacklustre and weak the action scenes were good though loved the chase scene on the roofs :D overall 2.5/5
December 6, 200816 yr I saw this a while ago and forgot to comment. Well been a Bond fan I was truly disappointed, the film didn't really have a story to it, it was all effects and rushed in my opinion as they needed to capitalize on Casino Royale, I didn't think much of the Bond Girls they seem a bit rubbery, and poor Gemma Atherton covered in oil, just reminded me of Shirley Eaton covered in Gold on the bed in Goldfinger. It totally lacked and it just used old plots used from all different Bond movies, the closing battle scene or whatever you like to call it was a bit like the ending of The Spy Who Loved Me. As for the main villian of the film, didn't give much performance to show that he was a hard nut villain. I do wonder where they are heading into the third movie, but they need to be careful with the Bond franchise not to overuse old plots, but than again what else can they do. Casino Royale was a masterpiece, but Quantum Of Solace was a big let down for me.

But, it did start off really well with that really well-executed car chase I thought... Pity the rest of the film just did not live up to the pre-credit sequence.... The Bond Girls were just rubbish, Gemma Arterton was superfluous, Olga Kurylenko just pouted her way through her chronically underwritten role (she's certainly no Eva Green in either the looks or talent department..). The only time I actually felt excited by the film was when you had the rather icy, terse exchanges between M and Bond... Judi Dench absolutely TOWERED over everyone else in this film, even Daniel Craig, whom I felt just sleepwalked through much of this film like he just forgot to try and make the script seem a bit more interesting.... Compared to "Casino Royale" this is pretty duff I'm afraid, and it just seemed like a rather bad "Bourne" wannabe, not even as exhilirating as the Liam Neeson action thriller "Taken"..... A better script and a better director certainly would have helped matters....
