Ince was a ridiculous choice for the job, the most success he's had is bring an ex Wimbledon side back to the third tier on a rebound. His signings/rumoured signings so far have been baffling and he's having a hell of hard time trying to keep the core of the club together (Friedel, Bentley, McCarthy). Blackburn will implode on themselves this season which is a shame because I really do like the club. I can see the fans calling for Ince to be sacked by Christmas..

Ince is a class manager.

Ince is a class manager.

Not proven at Premiership level though, I can't even see him having the same success level as Southgate in his first season..

I think Ince was chosen as much for the colour of his skin as he was chosen for any management ability

Good publicity for the club having the Premierships only black manager when someone like Allardyce would have been a far better choice

not remember when Fergie first came to United?

Bent will outscore Rooney and Tevez this season if he plays a full season

why do you keep bigging up Spurs?

you're rubbish.

Laudrup did seem the likely candidate though, albeit also being non too familiar with the Prem.

Of course I do but the Premiership has expanded so much since then. It's ridiculously hard to get an inexperienced manager to just walk into the Prem and have success thesedays.

Like I said Southgate survived his first season, it's not impossible, just can't see Ince being up to it. Especially with the state his squad is in.

I think Bent if he stays fit and is the lead striker next season will get 25-30 goals in all competitions, I also have a bet on Defoe too as I think he will score for fun with Crouch there to knock balls on for him

I would be happy with Bent as first choice, of course I would be overjoyed if we signed Villa or Eto'o but would be happy with Bent as sole striker next season

Well I don't think he's good enough personally, but I guess we'll agree to disagree on that. I don't think you have chance of Villa either. No effence to Spurs or anything Craig, but it would be a real step down. He loves Valencia and I know they're in a load of debt (which is over-played by the media) I don't think there's a chance he'd move there. You're in talks with Pavelwhatshisface aren't you? I think he'd be decent for you.

Just seen on SSN, the Arshavin deal could be postponed for a while, as Zenit won't sell him until they have a replacement. If Spurs are gonna play the 4-2-3-1 formation then they need Arshavin. Pretty much the whole formation depends on the link up play between the lone striker and the player in the hole between the two wider players.

That is one of the stupidest things I've ever read

Well it was until you said Bent would outscore Tevez and Rooney

He's had two good matches but can he make it last? If we used your logic we should have kept Eagles that meant he would score in every game  He's decent enough to get into double figures but I'm not quite sure he'll do THAT well tbh.

I can see one team doing worse than Stoke. And that's Hull.

Hull have made some OK signings actually, but I don't think they'll do well. Stoke though, their strike force is led by Dave Kitson... I can't seem them escaping relegation tbh, and I think they're absolute certainties to finish bottom. I think a few other teams will struggle this season too, but Bolton still haven't replaced Anelka... and they really need to tbh.
Yeah Hull have made a few decent signings, Boateng could prove to be a great signing if he keeps fit as he's very experienced Prem-wise. Will be interesting to see if Peter Halmosi can make it at the top level too. But like Roo said the only player I recall Stoke buying was Dave Kitson and they payed over £5m for him which shows the manager is hardly the most sensible in the transfer market..
Stoke have also signed Thomas Sorensen and Olifanjana from Wolves. Bolton have signed Elmander upfront for £10m. I definitely think they'll be ok, Megson seemed to have installed the mentality that Allardyce had given them towards the end of the season.
