Yeah :o Dare I say Tyron has the most known song this time around, despite his claim of a backlash against well known songs last time? :o

Like I've said, I only really have a problem when well known songs are entered en masse

But yes, I'm very happy with the selection of songs this time around  I can't wait to hear them all

which is why I said in another thread that I said I was surprised at Kopecka sending that song! It's not exactly well known, but it is probably known by most users of the forum by now, unlike most of the songs this time around!

its on par with someone sending Disturbia, which shockingly hasn't happened yet :o

I wouldn't quite put it on a par with Disturbia, given LMO has yet to trouble the Multichart, let alone the UK top 40

Anyway, here are Ceknet!'s preliminary odds for the winner of BJSC IX :w00t:

Sangria: Marie Picasso - Winning Streak 7/3

Nonsuch: Cyndi Lauper - Into the Nightlife 3/1

Priceville: Mariah Carey - Migrate 7/2

FSR Rontvia: Sanna Nielsen - Nobody Without You 7/2

Ashton: Amy MacDonald - Barrowland Ballroom 6/1

Quotosibb: Santogold - You'll Find A Way 15/2

Simmondly: Slinkee Minx - Summer Rain [Alex K Remix] 8/1

United States of Jack: Danity Kane - Bad Girl 10/1

Torchwood: Sneaky Sound System - Pictures 10/1

Ojnoj: Twiins - I Don't Know Why 10/1

Kingdom of Shadow: Margaret Berger - Will You Remember Me Tomorrow 12/1

MKL: Veronicas - This Love 12/1

Kopecka: Ashlee Simpson - Little Miss Obsessive 14/1

Bhangra: Velvet - Fix Me 16/1

Faztickle: Lucie Silvas - The Game Is Won 16/1

Kylienips: Sandra Cretu - Hiroshima 20/1

Bokia: Namie Amuro - Can't Eat, Can't Sleep, I'm Sick 20/1

Fervorosia: Bertine Zetlitz - Fake Your Beauty 25/1

Dalisska: Marie Digby - Say It Again 25/1

United States of Russiatron: Tarkan - Start the Fire 25/1

JRK-Off: Deep Dish - Say Hello 33/1

Juranabaijan: Script - Fall for Anything 40/1

Angelic Land: Jennifer Lopez - Forever 40/1

B.a.N.G: Bjork - Joga 40/1

Norwegia: Cannad Heat - Going Up the Country 50/1

Tapatilandia: Killers - On Top 66/1

Leonville: Guy Sebastian - Angels Brought Me Here 75/1

Camtoro: Thomas Godoj - Love Is You 75/1

Well, it's been in the Multichart before, but I don't think it reached the top 40 there.

Thanks for the decent odds by the way, I'd be happy with 6th.

more excellent odds for Sanna  you may be right about Sangria...they do deserve to win after a couple of near misses...

I think you're being too harsh on Ashlee...there's no way she won't finish top ten

and ok, its not on par with Disturbia, but its one of the top five most well known tracks in this competition for sure, the others being Deep Dish, Velvet, Lucie Silvas and Sneaky Sound System, and none of those are exactly cheap entries! shaping up to be a very memorable and close contest I think, but then again, how much closer can it get!

It spent 10 weeks in the Multichart.

It spent 10 weeks in the Multichart.

Whoops :kink: Did it go top 40? If not, that may be why I've failed to notice

And I reckon Santogold is going to be the dark horse for this contest :funky: Sangria must win obv.

It peaked at 42 :o Twas 11 weeks actually, not 10

I don't think anything in this contest thus far can really be considered cheap, unless someone jumps in with When I Grow Up in the next few days  I think in terms of results this could be as good as the last contest

It would help if she ever got around to releasing it

hopefully that won't happen  and I won't be impressed if somebody sends Superhuman either

a super cheap entry would be Colbie Caillat's Bubbly...surely that would be a guaranteed top five finisher  I wouldn't dare to send it though

I seriously considered going with that song as it has a great laid back summer feel to it, until I found out it was being re-released then I decided it was way too cheap to enter.

So far I'm very surprised no one has gone for another song by a popular female artist (I'll mention it after the deadline has passed), which if selected would be a strong contender for a Top 5 finish, but as I won last time, I've just gone for a song that I just absolutely love, rather than a song that I think will do well.

Yeah, I don't think anything is a cheap entry this time. There are a few album tracks that come from albums I have though - Ashton, Priceville and Kopecka - Priceville's being the one I'm most familiar with. 'Migrate' is one of my favourite songs of the moment so it's very likely to get a 12 by me, despite me playing it a lot before this contest. -_-

It would help if she ever got around to releasing it

I know. I was dithering over charting it for weeks and when I finally did, the release date vanished, so I stopped charting it the week after. This is happening a lot to me lately, I might stick to waiting for the radio to pick it up. :drama:

Bubbly's not the strongest song on Coco anyway...if I was going to enter Colbie, I'd either send Battle, Oxygen or Tailor Made but I'm definitely going for a male act next time, so Colbie won't be in contention for Rontvia for at least another two contests if ever

the song I'm most familiar with is Barrowland Ballroom from Ashton, usually that would prevent me giving points to it, but it is one of my favourite unreleased tracks ever, so I'm sure I'll give it something
