Posted August 5, 200816 yr Ricky Wilson and his fellow Chiefs have dubbed their third album ‘Off With Their Heads’. The album is the fruits of the Leeds’ band’s hook-up with super-producer and horn enthusiast Mark Ronson. The album is slated for release on October 13 and will be preceded by first single ‘Never Miss a Beat’ which will be released a week earlier on the 6th. The album, perhaps unsurprisingly considering Ronson’s track record, includes a number of collaborations. Lily Allen, who covered ‘I Predict A Riot’ on Mark Ronson’s ‘Versions’ album, shows up to add vocals. New Young Pony Club and Sway also lend a hand. I heard earlier today, the lead single will be the collaboration with Lily Allen ;o Edited August 6, 200816 yr by James.
August 5, 200816 yr I thought their first album was decent, but their 2nd was the biggest pile of $h!t i've just about ever heard. This sounds a decent album though... some nice little artists are involved in the record, so hopefully it can be an improvement on the 2nd record.
August 5, 200816 yr Hopefully this time around they wont sound like a "3rd Rate XTC tribute act" © Paul Weller.
August 5, 200816 yr The collaboration with New Young Pony Club should be interesting! :o i hope not to turn it to a bloc party... I don't understand this...
August 5, 200816 yr i hope not to turn it to a bloc party... well maybe if it they did become like Bloc Party they would sound good.
August 5, 200816 yr I think me meant like the new Bloc Party sound? I didn't have the first album but I had the last and it was by far and away my least favourite album of last year. Every song was just very MOR and boring. It sounded like a Pigeon Detectives album.
August 5, 200816 yr I think he meant like the new Bloc Party sound? Oh ok! In that case, my response would be the same as Chris'
August 5, 200816 yr Heard some of the new tunes at T in the Park - not overly bothered by them though. Collaborating with Lily seems stupid. Probably a tenuous plan of Ronson's. "I know, I'll get Lily Allen on the phone. She suits your style." That quoted article is wrong by the way - Lily covered 'Oh My God' in the turgid-Ronson style not 'I Predict a Riot'.
August 6, 200816 yr I'm not looking forward to the Lilly duet, and looking at the report on Planet Sound it looks like an album with guests artists, rather than a Kaisers album, one of the tracks was recorded with the band wearing sunglasses, because Mark Ronson thought it would make the song sound different......... He's the worse producer ever.
August 6, 200816 yr Author I didn't have the first album but I had the last and it was by far and away my least favourite album of last year. Every song was just very MOR and boring. It sounded like a Pigeon Detectives album. Oh dear Jonny... I know YTAM wasnt all that amazing but still LOL You need to listen to Employment my son, fantastic album That quoted article is wrong by the way - Lily covered 'Oh My God' in the turgid-Ronson style not 'I Predict a Riot'. So it is ;o
August 6, 200816 yr Lily Allen gets around everywhere except on her own frickin CD doesn't she? I'm not too interested in them really - their last album was awful.
