I should say about half the sales account of Dido's 2nd album were because of the classic songs on her debut, I was quite disappointed really with Life For Rent, as only the lead single White Flag really stood out for me, the rest were pleasant, but weak and fluffy songs in my opinion. I'm hoping for some really good strong songs this time, she'll no doubt get off to a cracking start as always, but I'm not sure she'll shift her usual two and a half million in the Uk this time.

I agree that her 2nd album was not as strong as her debut, but still a great album. The reason why LFR sold pretty much the same as No Angel is because No Angel was so damn great that almost everyone who bought it just HAD to buy the followup. With the new album, I believe she might sell very well on her name alone. I know several people will buy it even without hearing a song off it. Dido is one of the few artists that can sell to pretty much any public. I know people who bought Dido´s albums and also enjoy AC/DC or Kraftwerk. And at the same time, mummies and daddies who only listen to "adult" music. She´s been trough every public, from teenagers to old people, male, female, straight, gay, etc. That has been the key of her sucess so far. I just hope she manages to keep it with her new album.

I haven't heard none of her new material yet, its difficult to judge sales on her album when the album and single is not out till October.

I wait until I hear something, this thread would have been better near the time of her single. Its far too early.

EXACTLY there’s very little point in speculating about album sales when we haven’t even heard the first single yet! Utterly pointless if the first single is rubbish then it might do 20k or if its brilliant masterpiece >600k.

Could we please move the spate of ridiculously premature prediction threads to the relevant artists forums because they’re clogging up this forum with the being no point or need for them yet!

I voted 100+ but think it will be close to 200k :o
Even Coldplay did sell not that much, but who knows maybe i'm wrong and it's gonna be the best comeback of the year, beating Anastacia & Pink :kink:
i highly douby it, So What is huge right now so i think P!nk will overshadow both Dido and Anastacia sadly
Anastacia will be flopping imo too :o But Dido should be 2nd placed then :kink:
i dont think Ana will flop, but i think her sales will be lower than her previous albums
Agree, "flop" is a too strong word... But i still hope Dido will beat Pink although i adore both
Less than 200K really, I can't see it being as huge as the last one. Of course I wouldn't mind a tour in Australia, especially in Perth. :naughty:

i think it'll come down to how well the single is recieved
