Paedophile Gary Glitter is set for a life of luxury when he leaves jail thanks to a secret £1million hoard.

The pervert amassed the cash from royalties while serving three years in a Vietnamese jail for abusing children.

And he is likely to boost the pile with a megabucks deal for his autobiography.

UK radio stations refuse to play 64-year-old Glitter's hits like Leader Of The Gang.

But they are still popular in eastern Europe and Asia - and earn the monster cash each time they are broadcast.

His songs are also readily available on compilation albums and music websites.

Glitter - real name Paul Gadd - is due to be freed from jail within days.

But he will NOT return to Britain, where he would have to sign the Sex Offenders' Register and be monitored by cops.

Instead, he is expected to settle in Singapore or Hong Kong.

A source said: "He's dead set against coming to Britain as his reputation is in tatters and he'll be under constant scrutiny.

"He knows life will be easier abroad - and he will live very comfortably once he gets his hands on the royalty cash.

"You almost never hear his music in Britain but there's still a big market in countries where they don't know he's a child-sex pest."

Glitter became a hate figure in the UK after he was convicted of hoarding 4,000 kiddie porn pictures.

He fled to the Far East but was caged in Vietnam for abusing two kids.

Should he be entitled to collect his royalties like every other musician, or does it just feel outrageous to you?

Despite being a vile creature he is legally entitled to that money

Radio stations that played his song knew the person he is as did those who bought his records while he been in jail so yeah while I can't figure out why anyone would want to buy a record of his or play a song of his on the radio he is legally entitled to that money

Unfortunately I totally agree with you.

After all Chuck Berry has been convicted (& jailed on 3 separate occasions in 3 diffferent decades) of similar things with young girls (Although Gary Glitter to my knowledge did not set up a remote TV camera to videotape females in his club toilets including in the actual cubicles and keep over 8000 videos of this), yet his music is still played/covered.

But I guess an old bloke sleeping with underage females (ask the Rolling Stones ) is less offensive than an old bloke sleeping with underage males to the purient media.

Of course he's entitled to the money. Whilst in no way condoning what he's done I think it's ridiculous that 2 old chart shows, on Radio 2, Pick Of The Pops and Capital Gold's Bottom To The Top miss out his songs. If they were in that particular chart they should be played.

That's pretty much the size of it.... The press, ever hypocritical, dont seem to have a big problem with ageing Rockers knocking off 13/14/15 year old girls.. Bill Wyman should've been in bloody Wormwood Scrubs on a Statutory Rape charge, anyone else would've been.... <_<

I absolutely detest Gary Glitter, and frankly would've had no problems had he faced the FULL force of Vietnamese Law (which I believe carries LIFE in prison without parole for his particular crimes...), quite why he got away with it I dont understand (probably because he was a rich Westerner).... At least a Life sentence without possibility of parole would've ensured he would NEVER spend any of his Royalties... I'd've preferred it though had this fukkin' nonce been stabbed by one of his fellow inmates tbh.... <_< He should be forced by the authorities to surrender whatever profits he's made whilst in prison and compensate his victims for the trauma he put them through....

Er, they probably don't particularly want to contribute to his "Procuring Underage Thai Prostitutes Fund" mate..... Which I totally agree with.... I applaud them for not dignifying this vile pervert with any kind of status.... Why would ANYONE want to listen to this man's music now, it's tainted forever (mind you, it was always pretty sh!te though.... ).

Lock up your daughters

And he wants to come back to England to get treated, for a medical condition.

Medical Condition? Let him suffer!!!

sorry but ageing rockers having sex with pubescent females (or males) simply isnt as 'bad' as an old bloke forcing himself on a pre-pubescent child. whilst it is a crime to have 'underage sex' (assuming its not 'forced'),i cannot equate it to defileing a child.

bill wyman, chuck berry, jerry lee lewis, whoever... just are not as vile as the kiddy fiddler glitter.

as the law stands, he is entitled to his money...

I was actually replying more to Richard's point about the hypocrisy of the Media when its a Gay star having sex with underage boys actually..... Surely BOTH are as bad as each other, but while the likes of Bill Wyman and Jerry Lee Lewis seem to get a blokey "pat on the back" by the Media and "Lad Mags" like Loaded and FHM, if George Michael was caught out with a 15 year old gay lad having consentual sex he'd be fukkin' crucified and probably vilified even WORSE than Glitter.....

And I still stand by my point, Bill Wyman should have been nicked for statutory rape, end of story, he knew DAMN FINE how old Mandy Smith was when he started shagging her.... It wasn't the case that he picked her up in some nightclub, had a drunken fumble and then reacted with horror when he discovered her real age... It wasn't a mistake mate.....

Which law is that though mate... British or Vietnamese.....? He got convicted in Vietnam, not here, and he should have got a life sentence, which I believe is the Tariff out there, but of course, being a fukkin' rich Westerner, he got treated like bloody royalty... <_< The c/unt should be forced to pay compensation to his victims under VIETNAMESE law......

dunno scott... whilst i agree with you about compensation, if he is entitled to the money legaly then he should get it.

oh i agree about wyman/smith, it was statatory rape and how he got away with it is very odd.. and yep, gay underage sex would probably been seen worse then straight.

He's being deported back to this country as the ticket's been bought to London. He'll be met by police and interviewed then he's free to go where he likes basically. May go to another country.
He'll be met by police and interviewed

This is the one instance where I dont think I'd really mind if he were to "fall down some stairs.." at the police station -_- Or maybe even "die mysteriously while being questioned".....

In fact, cant we just let Mark Chapman out for one day and tell him Gary Glitter called his pint a 'puff'.....

  • 2 weeks later...

Fukker's back in the country now.... The photo I saw of him at the airport grinning that Cheshire Cat grin of his almost turned my stomach to be honest.... And to think I'm PAYING TAXES so he can have Police protection..... <_< He's a bloody millionaire rock star, he made money while in prison... C/unt should pay for his OWN protection detail.....

He's got to sign the Sex Offenders Register, for life... And they're gonna ban him from travel abroad.... Of course his lawyer's bleating about his "human rights" and how he was "fitted up" by the Vietnamese, blah, blah, YAWWWWNNNNNN..... Like he isn't some sort of dirty paedophile scumbag... And the Vietnamese were SOOOOO nasty to him they actually let him out when he had over a third still to serve on his (pitifully short) jail term..... Come on, who's the fukker trying to kid, he was treated like sodding ROYALTY in comparison to any ordinary Vietnamese person convicted of the same offence would be treated...... <_<

Another thing that made me laugh - his lawyer saying that Glitter was glad to be back in the country....ROFLMAO...... Oh yeah, right...... And er, do you actually think we are that stupid you Sheister prick.....? Gadd fought tooth and nail against being sent back here, he tried to get into Hong Kong, they refused, he tried TWICE to get into Thailand, they refused, he was refused entry by 19 other nations in South East Asia.....

Yeah, he was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO keen to come back here......
