Hi guys,

It's been a long time since I last caught up with you all, so I wanted to send you a quick note to let you know what I have been up to!

I feel like I'm starting a new and exciting chapter this year – so much has happened, not least being invited to perform with two of my heroes, Prince and Chaka Khan. I have also been in the studio working on the new album. There's been a lot going on – I can't say too much about it all yet but I'll definitely update you when I can – remember patience is a virtue ?. The music business is changing so fast at the moment but one of the benefits of that is that it will enable artists like me to have much more control over their careers. Suffice to say, things are really exciting right now and I'm on schedule to have the new album out next Spring which will be followed by a UK tour!

The last few weeks have been particularly busy- It was great to duet with Charlotte Church on her show earlier this month. Many people wouldn't associate a song like "We Can Work It Out' with a singer like Charlotte, which is why it was especially great to do that song with her. She's such a lovely girl- congratulations on her pregnancy. I also recently performed at the Blues Balls Festival In Luzern, Switzerland as well as at the Montreux jazz festival with Chaka Kahn – where Quincy Jones, in the front row, gave me a standing ovation! In the UK Cornbury and The Mouth of The Tyne Festival were also brilliant. It's so nice for me to get together with the band and do what we love doing- full live shows!

I also hosted a Charity dinner at The Mango Tree restaurant this week. All proceeds went to The Terrence Higgins Trust and Cancer Research UK. It was a fantastic night as loads of money was raised for the two charities. As well as a couple of guys from Take That attending, it was honour to have Annie Lennox come along and see me perform, she has always been an inspiration to me and it meant a lot to me that she was there and seemed to love it.

The next evening was also amazing as I was again asked by Chaka Khan to join her on stage at her gig at The Indigo Club at The O2 @ Arena. I sang 'Sweet Thing' and returned to the stage at the end of the show to sing "I'm Every Woman' with her. Chaka is just amazing and it's truly incredible to share a stage with her.

So what's next? Well the plan for the rest of the year is to complete the writing and recording process- its early days but its going really well so far.

Catch up soon.

Peace'n'love

Glad about a new album, and a UK tour. I missed her last time she played the Sage in Newcastle/Gateshead. Do hope she comes back.

I want it now too. :( As soon as it turns Spring I'll be like "WHERE IS IT?!?!". I expect it will be released at about the same as 'Music City Soul' which is still too far away, but I guess I'll have to manage. :(

I hope she comes back to the Hexagon, that's so close to me and I missed her last time. Well, I didn't miss her - I only became a huge fan after she'd finished the tour.

I wish she'd come closer to me than Manchester. I wish she'd to the Faenol Festival like Jamelia and Girls Aloud did last year, i only live a stones throw away from there.

I don't know if this is completely ignorant of me, but didn't she go to Rhyl last time? I don't know where abouts you live in Wales, so Manchester could be closer than Rhyl for all I know.

Yeah she did and i was rather close to the front actually but quite a few acts have come to Rhyl once and not return (Girls Aloud being one) so im not holding out for Beverley to be any different.

Well you never know, she's been to the Hexagon twice apparently and that's not a venue that is played at a lot, so she might return to Rhyl. Knowing my luck it wont be third time lucky and she wont be going to the Hexagon this time. -_-

I hope she does. Rhyl was actually where Girls Aloud started their first tour you know.
