She should NOT change her sound simply to 'break America' if they ain't interested they ain't interested, i'm not bothered and i'm sure she isn't either.

she doesn't need to change her sound, she just needs to make it more urban....she has done that b4.

i'm sure every artist dreams about making it in America, and since The US public is now very open to everything foreign, i'm sure that Kylie has a bigger shot now at conquering the US market again.... :cheer:

it will be the quickest END for her career...

'2 Hearts' is OK as a B-Side but it's definitly not single-material....

stuff like Speakerphone with some midtempos like Fragile and perhaps just one gorgeous ballad like Loving Days

I absolutely can't stand "speakerphone". Its one of her worst tracks ever and is dull and boring. Most of the b sides from X are much better than this. It would be nice if she did some ballads, "flower" is an amazing song and I cant believe it missed the tracklisting when they included trash like speakerphone.

I would argue that by making her sound 'more urban' she'd be changing it; Kylie has always been most successful with pure pop music, 'Body Language' was viewed as an attempt at urban by Kylie and it wasn't very successful in Europe or in the US. They liked her dance/pop style more and we like that too so she should do that kind of sound again. Almost guaranteed success here, and a good stab at the US without compromising her sound.

I'd like another Fever/Light Years style album ^_^
I'd say Body Language was more slow and sexy electro-pop than 'urban'. I agree with what seejayjee said though, I'd rather she didn't go urban just to try and break America, she has a fantastic sound which works for her and she's successful enough in other territories without having to resort to that.
I dont get it when people say she should go Urban to break America. Why ?. She broke america where she did dance/pop. She then tried to go "american" with body language it to me it was a waste of time and produced her worst album.
I reckon then the general consensus is definitely to stay with pop music, but what kind of style? Dance-pop? Indie-pop? Electro-pop? I'd like a nice mix of dance and electro pop, like "Made Of Glass" or "B.P.M".
Fever and Body Language are my two fav albums from her---they are actually the only two albums I like. They have more of a dance/R&B flavor which I like. She needs to use some American producers like Pharrell. Also, I would like her to work with Xenomania for the dance cuts.

i didn't say i wanted her to go 100% urban ... i'm only saying that she should make an electro-urban pop album which is a mixture between some of her previous songs 'Sweet Music', 'Cruise Control' and stuff like Nelly Furtado's 'Loose' album ('Maneater', 'Do it, 'say it right')and Madonna's 'Hard Candy' ('She's not me', 'Give it 2 me'..) and Lady Gaga's debut album.

so she would stay pop but yet work with urban producers...

I would be utterly mortified if she released an album like Hard Candy, it's not as if that did wonders for Madonna either did it? So what good would it do for Kylie?

The pop sound seems to be more accepted in the US lately anyway and it's getting bigger, even less reason for Kylie to alter her sound to suit it.

Id hate Kylie to go in any way Urban. Pop/Dance has worked for her whole career including America. Dont see why is should chand now. I would love her to worl with Lady GaGa though.
