I give the whole album 9.5/10.

Only just started listening to the album. :) What on Earth have they done to 'Up'? :mellow: Why change it? The chorus sounds so flat. Vanessa's end vocals sound so much better in the original.

My review:

 

1. If This Is Love - Always liked this and I still enjoy listening to it. :) 9/10

2. Up - The single version is amazing! 10/10 for sure. The album version is terrible though. The chorus has been deflated and it didn't need a chorus repeat at the end with Vanessa's vocals spread out.

3. Keep Her - Really good song, a grower too as I wasn't sure when I first heard it on youtube. 8/10

4. Issues - Beautiful song, love the production on this and the vocals. I hope it's a single. 10/10

5. Lies - Average. Nothing special for me personally. 5/10

6. Work - One of my favourites. Great production and the chorus is strong and catchy. :) 9/10

7. Chasing Lights - I did not like this live (vocals were all over the place) but I'm pleasantly surprised by the studio version. 8/10

8. Set Me Off - Still reminds me too much of 'Sweet Dreams My L.A. Ex' but I like it a lot more than when I originally heard it. 7/10

9. Fall - Really love this song. Nice change of pace from the rest of the album. More pop/RnB than the other songs and very contemporary; reminds me of some Stargate songs. ('Irreplaceable', 'With You', 'Tattoo'.) Epic bridge and final chorus too. 10/10

10. Vulnerable - Love the whistle sounds in the chorus. Another of my favourites. Nice to hear more of Mollie and Frankie too. 9/10

11. Why Me, Why Now - Very old-fashioned sounding song but nice and pleasant enough. 6/10

 

Overall, I'm very impressed! I wasn't interested in them that much until 'Up' and I didn't have high expectations for this album but they proved me wrong. Some fantastic songs on there. :)

I think its a case of why not change it?! Thats the album version, so the track would have been edited and changed to come up with the far superior single version!

The vocals aren't incredible, but 3 are very good and the other 2 are passable. Doesn't flow? :/ What c**p. There's not enough variety for it NOT to flow. It flows just fine.

Because doing one up North would be way too easy! :lol: I live in Chester which an about an hour from Manchester and trust me I'd much rather they did one up here too. But it doesn't look like they will, only London scheduled at the moment. Which is fair enough it is the capital.

I just heard Chasing Lights (the song) and I think it's much better the singles! Can't help but think the production sounds really c**p and cheap though!

This is absolutely amazing for a debut album.

I give it a 9.5/10, and that's only because there's not enough tracks on there.

And as for the "bad production", you have to remember... the most amazing producers won't want to work with an upcoming girl group.

They had to settle for who would produce.

I think they'll definitely get a second album and the producers will come flooding in.
