Maybe I was a bit blinded by how the main guy was literally BURNING ON FIYAH. But yeah it was still a good movie, I will go and see the second. :o

But when like the light shined on him it looked like he had some sort of skin disease. D:

He is fairly attractive though, I suppose. STILL. Poor movie imo. So mormon as well. XD

I reeeeaallyyyy dunno about this.... I mean, a "romantic comedy" with Vampires????  Sounds a bit like "Buffy/Angel"-lite to me..... ie, all the sappy, lovey-dovey stuff in Buffy and Angel without the dark edges, black humour and horror, which you really need for summat like this.... The romance elements in Buffy/Angel worked extremely well because it had excellent writing so it didn't seem too gooey and cliched.... What I've seen of this just leads me to believe that this is just gonna be another complete pile of US teen drivel, "Blood and Chocolate" or "The Covenant" with Vampires, and, well, those films were utter cr@p IMO....

The cert is 12A as well.....

I'm lookingggg forward to thiissss now a lot.

I only got into it recently as my Scene friend harassed

me into reading the book. Quite hooked now.

I heard that the sequels aren't as good thougghhh...

Not that I've read them yet.

BUT....after reading the book and only just seeing the trailer:

A- RPattz is f***ing gorgeous.

B- Ew@the girl playing Isabella. NOTHING like I'd have imagined

her to be from the book! She looks so much prettier in the

promo posters aswell. Oh dear. Lol.

Oh yeah and like Medicated Soap said,

the books REALLY aren't amazing. They're

good for a bit of...easy reading and 100%

cheese.

Butttt...every other sentence involes "DAZZLE",

"hyperventilating" or "ice cold". Hahah that's

basically what the blurb of the book should

be to be fair.

Er, she looks as though she's about 13 years old......

Potential for serious dodginess here.... With Sarah Michelle Gellar you kinda KNEW she was in her early 20s, so it didn't seem half as iffy when a centuries-old vamp (Angel/Angellus) started fancying her.....

Frankly the male vamp in this film just looks way too much like David Boreanaz from Buffy series 1..... They could almost be clones....

Grimly, I agree about Blood & Chocolate and The Covenant. THEY WERE DIRE. So much so that I didn't finish watching B&C. BUT I do like The Covenant Soundtrack.

AND I LOVE THE TWILIGHT MOVIE. It's nothing like Buffy, nor is it comedic :kink: These vampires believe in God and go out into the sunlight. :w00t: And ALICE CULLEN IS HAWT.

All in all, it was good for that it was - a medium budget movie. They did all they could with the money they had and I really REALLY liked it. Don't expect a direct transition from book to screen, though. It's quite different.

I watched it on the net (:naughty:), but I've booked my ticket for Friday.

PS. Am I the only straight guy in the world who likes the books and the movie?

These vampires believe in God and go out into the sunlight.

Vampires believing in God is not all that new a concept... Dracula believed in God also, he just hated him, so much so that he was repulsed by the Cross... Lestat and Louis also believed in God in Anne Rice's books, Anne Rice's vampires also fell in love and wanted 'families'.... I may go and see this film just to see what it's like, I've never read the books because frankly I dont believe that the author is really doing anything that the likes of Anne Rice or Poppy Brite haven't done before....

I wasn't a fan of Stephanie's take on some issues, though. I won't go into detail because I don't want to spoil anything, but it's all vert Mormony. :puke2:

Oh dear...... The Mormons are a cult like Scientology IMO, and whom I am personally VERY suspicious of.... Anything relating to Mormonism immediately raises my hackles up.... Mormon Vampires???? Jeeeeeeeeeeez, this doesn't sound at all good..... Anne Rice only used religion as a metaphor in her books, I can cope with that....

LOL. I don't think the vampires are actually Mormon. In the third and fourth book, Stephanie's Mormon side flows through the book and it's all very 20th century. :P

I'll basically spoiler tag it:

Edward (vampire) finds it difficult to... get close... to Bella (human) because he's afraid he'll hurt her... physically. Every time they kiss, he has the urge to rip her apart (true love, aw!). But Bella wants to have sex with Edward. But, of course, Edward being from 19XX, has traditional values... so the only way he'll sleep with Bella is if they get married. All this just screams Mormon, IMO. And I hated that aspect of the book. I'm nowhere near religious, so I found the whole thing ridiculous. I just wish Stephanie wasn't Mormon :(

one word - AMAZING.

I loved it from start to finish. It just incredible. I never knew how good of an actor the Kristen girl is. One thing that was just incredible and so tense was

the kiss. You never see them kiss until close to the end and when they do, you have this long tense wait. You feel the romance between them. It really is good

9.5/10

I don't think I'm going to see this anymoreee,

as much as I'd love to I don't want it to taint

the incredible, dazzling book </3. And apparantly

RPattz' acting isn't too great and is very wooden.

OH DEAR. Plus, DVD -> Screencapping RPattz

beautiful face. Score!

I really liked it, I haven't read the books like.

and on another note Robert Is Hot! :P haha!

I won't ever read the books. They're not the sort of stuf I read haha. But I did really like the film! :o I loved the visual elements of it. Was really nice, and with a bigger budget I think it could have looked even better. I got the sense of real sexual tension between the two characters, and I didn't think Rlobert Pattinson was wooden really...

only 2 seconds of green screen apparently :o

I found it a bit difficult to watch - intensely dull infact, for the first 45 minutes. I'm all for setting the scene, but after about 40 mins I was just like "Okay, he's creepy, I get it. Something, happen? Please?"

But that said, once it did get going, it was good - still a little slow in parts, but generally a nice enough way to spend a couple of hours.

I got the book for xmas and theres very little different between the book and the film. Some dialogue is almost exactly the same just worded differently. There is a huge amount of detail in the book its like woah..

I still haven't seen this fussaaake.

And if, like Joao put, it is a lot like the book; then I'd imagine the start of the film to be $h!t anyway.

The book only gets proper good from like, Chapter 3 hah.

Pre Chapter 3 is just the most pointless, 4 paragraph descriptions about pointless things lol.
