Yeh It was originally scheduled for an August release and so I was going to use it for the last contest before I thought one night 'no that'll be cheap, I'll send margaret berger this time and then hope i get something good for BJSCX' - then Ms Berger won and Roisin showed little activity so i opted for what I believed to be the better song this time round :lol:

Why are the contests so dragged out gosh

Well the nation song contest at esctoday.com does it quicker at 3 weeks, 1 week for sign up, 1 week for semi voting and 1 week for final voting. It seems a bit fast but it's not really.

 

 

I think roughly once every month is better tbh. Once every three weeks would seem very rushed imo...

Yeh it is I think - I just tried something new this time round as it seemed (much like is happening in this contest) people were choosing their next entry well before the current contest had finished and wanted to confirm them early but i think it was perhaps too early

I don't think so......I think Confirmation goes on for a little longer than in the NSC.

 

 

 

 

Once a month is what we do here. It's usually about two weeks between each contest and the opening of the official confirmation thread (it was longer this time but I think it was two weeks until the 'official' opening by Tom). Either way, I don't think the process is particularly dragged out or overloaded tbh :cheer:

I think what we have at the moment is fine, although the confirmation thread was opened far too early this time around.

 

A week for confirmation, a week for semi voting and a week for the final with a week's gap after that seems reasonable enough. Although there needs to be some sort of temporary confirmation thread open during the gap so everyone can keep track of what artists are being used.

Actually I don't even think we need a week for the voting. We usually have around 5 days for the semis and 5 days for the final, although it does depend when the host is free.

I always did 5 days I think when I hosted, because I felt like it really dragged on otherwise...

 

I think some other hosts may have given less time, maybe 3 days for the semi-votes in some contests :o

 

I don't think it really matters if the official confirmation thread opens after this contest finishes for two reasons

 

1) The temporary confirmation thread was very confusing and led some people to think they had already confirmed their song officially

2) If, like I think we are, implementing the rule that you have to send the first song you confirm then there should be no problems, people will be more careful picking their entry, and I don't think there will be as many early confirmations, as people will know that whatever you pick you have to stick to

:lol: I remember hosting the contest with 29 songs :o And contest after there have been about 40 songs :o :o

Why cant there just be one round and the winner decided from there? I dont see the point in revoting and going through basically the same thing twice. That way it will be much more exciting and the contest wont fade because waiting week after week is kind of a mood kill
