I like lots of different kinds of music over the years, plus within each genre i like or dislike certain artists. But on the whole I will give it a listen before dismissing it out of hand.

I like some, but not all................. rock& roll, techno, classical, jazz, blues, soul, punk, metal, hard rock, soft rock, indie rock, pop etc

I'm not keen on rap, R & B, country....with just a few exceptions that I can tolerate.

Do you have a wide spectrum in musical taste?

You forgot to mention prog rock ;)

Yeah, I think that I have quite wide spectrum in musical taste.

I like hard rock, prog rock, soft rock, alternative rock, trip hop, ambient, metal (doom, death, black, prog, avant.), folk, singers/songwriters, blues, jazz (but rather instrumental, not keen on singing), some pop, grunge, classical, some funky, electronica and regge...

I tolerate punk and country to some degree but I like 16 Horsepower and Woven Hand.

I really dislike R&B, rap, hip hop, most Soul and nu metal. Grrrrr :puke2:

I'm like a couple others, on the whole, I can't really stand country or rap/hip hop....but, I do like a lot of Johnny Cash's stuff....

Other than that, I listen to classic/hard rock, heavy metal, new age, punk, new wave, new romantic, classical....

I even like quite a bit traditional Irish/Scottish music....

I have quite a wide taste in music. I like most, although I'm not wild about punk, rap or metal.

I like anything tbh. Not any of this new 'indie boyband' shit though.

And Rap is good. :P

I like hard rock, prog rock, soft rock, alternative rock,, metal (doom, death, black, prog, avant.),

so that'd be 'rock' then! :P

Yeah ;)

but there is a lots of rock bands that I dislike and even hate  . It's not like I love everyting which has some guitars ;-).

I'm not so keen on some indie bands, especially like Scouting for Girls, The Pigeon Detectives...., I don't listen to Coldplay, and truly dislike bands like Billy Talent :puke2:

And there is a lots of metal bands that I think they are absolutely c**p. All powermetal makes me :puke2:

tbh im off rock... i was never big into rock, but like some (qotsa are superb). i hate coldplay... theres summut about their pretenciousness and plagaristic take (litterally) on music that irritates me. i like some current 'indie' (mod...lol) as its the style of pop ive liked the longest...

trance is my current fav, i like some uk garage too, and some recent r n b, besides retro music. i think i had something of every genre in my collection... even disco, even philly! :puke2: and does 'wichita lineman' count as 'country'?.. :) i love that!

I'd be the first to admit that my tastes are not as diverse aas others on this forum.

I really dislike nearly all indie and rock, regardless of the era. I also can't abide Country, syruppy love songs, boy bands and - above all - AOR American/Canadian Rock! Stuff like Bryan Adams, Daniel Powter and Nickelcack make me want to DIE!

On the other hand, my absolutely favorite style of music is dance music. Anything from House to trance to rave to mellow chilled out stuff to disposable SAW nafness to Disco to 80s electro stuff to disco to soul to old-skool RnB circa late 80s/early 90s.

There are only two types of music ...... Music I like & Music I don't like!

Seriously I prefer "Four To The Floor" Guitar/Beat Pop/Rock music, Indie/Alternative, Singer/Songwriters.

My least favourite genres of music are Hair Metal, Emo & Manufactured pap from Reality pop talent TV shows and bland AOR from the likes of Nickleback, Chicago, Bryan Adams, etc.

Good man!!! :D

I like:

Pop

Eurodance

Rock - mainly from the 70s and 90s. I absolutely love Glam Rock!

Heavy Metal

Classical

Opera

Motown

80s and 90s Soul

Some Indie music

Electropop

Reggaee

I even like the odd bit of folk!

I am not fond off:

EMO - Please! It's too whiney and the people need to lighten up and enjoy life. It's not proper rock music, and without the guitars I am sure they'd be run of the mill boybands.

00s R and B - Too boring, whiney and forgettable.

Rap - A bunch of mysgonists and homophobes rapping they've got a big c**k and all this bling. I have to admit, I prefer rap done by a female.

Garage

Happy Hardcore

Protentious bull such as ColdPlay

Also don't ostracise me for this but I am not a fan of singer-songwriters such as Duffy, Adele, Gabreilla Climi and the like. The only one I can tolerate is James Blunt.

Thrash Metal, Hard Rock, Traditional Metal, Motown, Classical and a few other things here and there (some Death metal, jazz, pop/rock) is what i like.

id agree with the proviso that chicagos '25 or 6 to 4' wasnt included and bryan adams 'run to you', both of which were good.

Cant argue with that.... "Emo" is without a doubt THE worst sub-category of Rock that there has ever been, dont get me started on the likes of My Comical Romance or Fall Out Boy..... NOT to be confused with "Emotional Hardcore" such as Jimmy Eat World, At The Drive-In or Johnny Truant, some of that stuff was actually pretty damned good.....

I like alot of music, easier to list what I dont like

Music I dont like would be Hip Hop, I hate with avengence, not keen on R&B, Country (though I like a bit of Eagles) classical opera, trance, drum n bass, sickly slow love songs yuk. Anything else I like to varying degrees, though my fave music is rock/ indie music
