Ahh my chart be back proper like woo. Another new number one this week in the form of White Lies' brilliant second single 'Death'. They are the first act to have two number 1s on my chart this year also. Random and good. They will be mahoosive. Lots of movement in the top 10 this week generally; three new entries in the form of White Lies, Deerhunter and TV on the Radio. The latter two entering at #06 and #08 respectively. The Bug surges into the top 10 moving 14-05 with the latest wonderful single from the brilliant 'London Zoo'. of Montreal vault 11-07 with 'ID Engager' the brilliant lead single from their unfocused 5th album. Elsewhere my obsession with southern African house music continues with Buraka Som Sistema, Mujava and Playdoe all within the the top 40. Such a now genre, watch these three make a notable splash in the coming 12 months. New entries come from the aforementioned Playdoe at 40, dance-pop duo Y.A.C.H.T. enter at 30 with 'Summer Song' a little lower down at 32 sees massively-hyped Amazing Baby enter with their debut EP (also freely available to download from their website); watch them be huge in 2009. Tis of note too the indie-Americanization of one's chart. This year has been hella slow for decent UK i.e. non-existant. Lets hope something of substance comes out. The USA, Canada and Oceania rule the roost, even Africa does more so than the UK for once. Shocks o:
