February 20, 200916 yr First listen review then: 10.0 I Do Not Hook Up Frigging brilliant! SO improved from the demo. Pretty much perfect. 09.0 Cry The chorus is a bit shouty but she just about pulls it off. Great verses. 10.0 Don't Let Me Stop You Possibly the catchiest song so far but not at all throwaway. Perfect single material. 08.5 All I Ever Wanted Really edgy, this. A grower hopefully. 09.5 Already Gone Definitely feeling that NC2U vibe in the chorus. Properly sweet and SO fresh production-wise. Has to be a single. 09.0 If I Can't Have You Rocky! Stunning middle 8 and properly relentless chorus. 09.0 Save You My lord, the production on this is the tits. Beautiful without being soppy. Amazing. 09.0 Whyyawannabringmedown PUNK. Sounds surprisingly unforced too. Really addictive. 09.0 Long Shot Nothing ground-breaking here but very strong all-round. Warm chorus. I wouldn't have guessed this was a Katy co-write. 08.5 Impossible One of the more 'serious' songs I guess. Pretty good. 09.0 Ready This one's fairly bouncy! Big, simple chorus which is pretty happy by Kelly's standards. Lovely. Sort of reminds me of Sara Bablahblah's 'Love Song'. 09.5 I Want You I adore this! So twinkly and bubblegum and 60s-esque. Sounds like a really authentic throwback. 09.0 If No-One Will Listen Fairly basic by Kelly's ballad standards. Slightly country in parts and generally lovely. My early favourites are 'Hook Up', 'Don't Let Me Stop You', 'Already Gone' and 'I Want You'. SO pleased with this.
February 20, 200916 yr Man, Already Gone is so slick. I was right about it being my favourite. This should definitely be a single in the future. I still don't like Whyyawannabringmedown. Sounds kind of lame to me. Really strong album. A lot of the songs have great, catchy hooks. That's what she needed for this era, and I think it'll pay off.
February 20, 200916 yr I'm not going to listen to the leak, I'll wait until 8th March, the day my pre-order from iTunes comes.
February 20, 200916 yr I think this is actually her best album, by a mile. It's way more consistent than her previous three. The only songs I'm not feeling are Whyyawannabringmedown and If No One Will Listen.
February 20, 200916 yr listening now, 3 tracks in and I like tracks 2 & 3 more than My Life...I think :o  certainly I Do Not Hook Up anyway
February 20, 200916 yr Already Gone = great stuff  production is like a mix of Bleeding Love and Janet Leon's Let Go... :o
February 20, 200916 yr OK, I don't like the album. Mainly because it is completely inoffensive and generic. Breakaway was great because it had some absolute pop gold on there. My December was great because it had some musical and artistic gems like Irvine. This album falls somewhere in between and ends up having neither of those things. The Ryan Tedder songs are OK but again, really generic. There is some glossy production that My December lacked but that's about it. I find all the songs pretty boring. I think a few songs will grow on me though. I'm kinda liking Impossible, Long Shot, If I Can't Have You, Already Gone, Ready and I Want You. But I don't think I'll ever LOVE them like songs from MD and Breakaway. Like I said, it's not that any songs are particularly terrible (except Whyyawannabringmedown), it's just they're all so middle of the road.
February 20, 200916 yr I see what you mean about it falling in between Breakaway and My December...it certainly shows a step back in terms of being a serious artist and is less artistic than My December, but it takes a huge step forward in terms of potential success, it's obviously going to be far bigger than its predecessor I wasn't anywhere near as big a fan of My December as I was of Breakaway, this album instantly appeals to me a lot more, whereas a lot of My December lacked simple values I look for in a song; hooks, melody, big choruses this song certainly has hooks and melody, and for me is a huge improvement on My December on first listen, but will she ever top Breakaway? I doubt it, lightning rarely strikes twice and it's near enough a perfect album...of course I was of this opinion after many months, not after one listen
February 20, 200916 yr Only 4 songs in and so far i'm liking it. Love Cry and Don't Let Me Stop You, I think I Do Not Hook Up will be a grower

February 20, 200916 yr I will post a proper full review review after a week or so as songs grow and vice versa the more i listen to them. Anyway quick review. My Life Would Suck Without You - Weve all heard this many times by now. Great stuff but not her best - 8.5 I Do Not Hook Up - Woah, mega catchy fun track here. Instantly likeable, though MLWSWU was and soon wore off, love it atm though - 9 Cry - Reminds me of a typical Nickelback/Aerosmith etc type rock ballad, lyrics are fantastic - 8.5 Don't Let Me Stop You - Reminds me a lot! of one of Pinks singles but im not sure which one, amazing - 9.5 All I Ever Wanted - Great verses on this though the chorus is poor - 6 Already Gone - Agree with the Bleeding Love, Halo etc references. Vocals are great, the song is not as good as other Tedder tracks though - 7.5 If I Can't Have You - Really liking this on first listen. Great dance-pop/rock, could be a single - 9 Save You - Would of been much better if it was more acoustic, the drums in the second verse dont sound in time etc though maybe im being to fussy. Very emotional track though -8 Whyyawannabringmedown - FANTASTIC! so different from anything else shes done. Reminds me of Rogue Traders - Way To Go for some reason - 9.5 Long Shot - The whole Katy Perry type accent when singing is in this, annoys me in the way 'Thinking Of You' does but despite being irritating its good stuff - 7.5 Impossible - Very much of a filler track for me, its not bad but nothing outstanding - 6 Ready - A happy backing track here but the melody and lyrics and somewhat less happy, the most similar sounding track to something off My December - 7 I Want You - Rather pleasant summery track here but it verges on irritating rather than catchy - 6.5 If No-One Will Listen - Typical pop ballad here, would of probably been on Leonas next album if it wasnt on this - 7.5 Overall - The first half of the album is definately much better than the second half. Much better than 'My December' (only like 'One Minute', 'Sober' & 'Don't Waste Your Time') but not up the standard of 'Breakaway' and ive never heard all of 'Miss Independant'. 8/10 Edited February 20, 200916 yr by Conor
February 20, 200916 yr I'm not gonna elaborate on whats been posted already other than to say I freakin LOVE this album. :cheer: I can't pick an favourites after first listen or I'd end up listing 90% of the album.
February 20, 200916 yr My review: 1. My Life Would Suck Without You - Instantly loved this and still do. Great melody and vocals from Kelly, perfect lead single. :) [9/10] 2. I Do Not Hook Up - So glad this is the second single! One of my favourites on the album, so catchy! Much better than Katy's version too. [10/10] 3. Cry - Absolutely amazing song. Such an epic bridge and the vocals are wow! I love the lyrics too. [9.5/10] 4. Don't Let Me Stop You - Love this, really strong chorus. I don't think the high belted note at the end of the bridge is necessary, she does them enough lol. [9/10] 5. All I Ever Wanted - I like this but I don't love the chorus. Can't see myself listening to it that much. [7/10] 6. Already Gone - Great laid back track. The lyrics are fantastic and the song as a whole is very haunting. Fantastic use of strings. [9/10] 7. If I Can't Have You - This is fantastic, I love the bridge! Nice to have another more electro song in similar vein to MLWSWY.[9/10] 8. Save You - This song is stunning and so beautiful. Tedder is a genius. Great vocals from Kelly. [10/10] 9. Whyyawannabringmedown - I'm glad I like this more than when I first heard the clip. Not amazing but it's funky and will be great to hear live. [7.5/10] 10. Long Shot - The intro on this is epic! Love the verses in this and it has a great production. [9/10] 11. Impossible - Really like the production on this too. The chorus isn't the strongest though, a bit bland. [7/10] 12. Ready - I love how this is totally different from everything else on the album. Such a cute fun song. The "come get me" whisper is adorable! [9/10] 13. I Want You - Not keen on this song, it's too repetitive. The Day We Fell Apart should have taken its place on the regular edition of the album IMO. [5/10] 14. If No One Will Listen - This song is pretty. It's nice to have one traditional power ballad. [7/10] Overall: [9/10] :)
