February 20, 200916 yr I'm not getting the Halo comparisons. I think it's just the drum beat. It has a completely different melody. I don't think she's taken a step back. I'm glad it's not a record full of depressing music. It's such a diverse album, and think it's a major step in the right direction. It's all very 2009. Breakaway was a great album, but there's more variety on AIEW. I really didn't think I'd like this more than Breakaway, but I do.
February 20, 200916 yr Havent listened yet, as I havent made up my mind yet if i want to wait until the release or not. Thanks for the link Ethereal by the way. Hmm, i remember a few months back saying that i hoped it was something in the middle between Breakaway and My December, and apparantly it is.
February 20, 200916 yr People that can't see the similarities between Already Gone and Halo are kidding themselves. The beat is the same, the tempo, even the chords are pretty similar. And that little break before the last chorus is just like Halo.
February 20, 200916 yr I'd go so far as to say Already Gone is better. There isn't a lot in it other than the fact that AG is warmer and Kelly's vocals are just a million miles better than Bey's. So much more genuine. And less shouty!
February 20, 200916 yr After first listen I'd say it'd a lot more hit and miss than both Breakaway and My December, but it's still new Kelly and I still love it :P Highlights: Cry Don't Let Me Stop You Save You Long Shot If No-one Will Listen

And that little break before the last chorus is just like Halo. These music producers ALWAYS do this though. They make one or two successful songs ('Bleeding Love' Ryan Tedder, 'Maneater/Sexyback' Timbaland, 'Just Dance' RedOne, every Pop-Rock by Dr Luke etc) and then use the same formula for ages which quickly gets boring. The album is great stuff though and this shall be a great year for her providing she releases the right songs.

February 21, 200916 yr Ooh there's your competition Ms. Swift! :P As for the album, well it's growing on me majorly at the moment but the ones that seem to be standing out to everyone else don't really seem to be that instant for me. I expected to love Save You and Already Gone on first listen, but they're yet to grow on me... I love Cry, I Want You ( ), Impossible and Don't Let Me Stop You. Ready, All I Ever Wanted and Whyyouwannabringmedown are the weak ones for me thus far...
February 21, 200916 yr Oh and i'm not keen on I Do Not Hook Up yet either... I can see the appeal of it, but I think the obviousness of it is putting me off? If that makes sense? :heehee: You can definitely tell it's a Katy Perry cast-off though, I reckon you could easily switch Kelly's vocals for Katy's and very few people would notice. Edit: I LOVE I Do Not Hook Up now, how the times change eh?  :P
February 21, 200916 yr My thoughts on the album have changed quite a bit overnight after a good few listens to everything. 'Long Shot' has definately become my firm favourite. Fantastic song even though it could of been sung by any other artist it suits Kelly best. 9.5 Long Shot 9.5 Don't Let Me Stop You 9 I Do Not Hook Up 8.5 Cry 8.5 If I Can't Have You 8 Impossible 8I Want You 8 Already Gone 8 Save You 8 My Life Would Suck Without You 7.5 Whyyawannabringmedown 7 If No One Will Listen 6 Ready 6 All I Ever Wanted
February 21, 200916 yr Well, that's nice and constructive. My ranking right now: 10.0 Don't Let Me Stop You 10.0 Already Gone 10.0 I Do Not Hook Up 09.5 If I Can't Have You 09.5 Cry 09.0 My Life Would Suck Without You 09.0 Long Shot 09.0 Ready 08.5 I Want You 08.5 Save You 08.5 Impossible 08.0 Whyyawannabringmedown 08.0 All I Ever Wanted 07.0 If No One Will Listen 8.89 > All I Ever Wanted  Easily the album of 09 so far...
February 21, 200916 yr I dont normally listen to leaked albums unless its someone like Beyonce LOL. Everyone has been saying great things about 'All I Ever Wanted' though, so I thought I would have a go. Completely let down by this album. IMO there are only three good songs - 'My Life Would Suck' 'All I Ever Wanted' and 'I Do not Hook Up' Shame too, I thought the album was quite promising after 'My Life'. Which I LOVE and is the most played song on my ipod! Edited February 21, 200916 yr by Mikeyjosh

February 21, 200916 yr Don't give up on it MikeyJosh. I can guarantee after a few more plays you'll love it. :P Especially Already Gone! Anyway since I did that rate I've decided Already Gone is my favourite followed by If I Can't Have You. Jesus, Tedder is an absolute genius!
February 21, 200916 yr In terms of sound, I'd place the album halfway between Breakaway + My December. It's not as pop/commercial, but not as dark. It's really rocky though. But sometimes gets very Avril Lavigne-like. :S Her voice has got alot better though!
