January 3, 200916 yr Hmm. That's alright but not keen on the vocals at all. I can imagine it'd be pretty good with Kelly singing and a slight tweak of the production/lyrics.
January 3, 200916 yr It was nothing to do with how commercial, or uncommerical it was, it was just that MD was 13 tracks of self indulgent complaining, so I do think it sucked. The only thing worse than the music was the project management ... so no shusshing just because other people disagree, sorreeee. So tragic :( Nice artwork though. But, as I said, this looks a lot like things could be looking up for KC - hopefully 09 WILL be her year, and return her to the status she and her magnificent voice deserve. I will shush you all I want when you state your opinion as a gross misgeneralisation of everyone elses. So tragic indeed... :teresa:

January 4, 200916 yr Oh my LOL. The cover. What a telling change from My December that definitely highlights the power the music industry has on artists. Woo. That being said, Breakaway was, by far, a much better album than the absolutely miserable My December (yeah insult me all you want; it was Kelly's attempt at being meaningful / deep / thought provoking / interesting and it failed miserably - it was critically panned on top of that so she really wasn't impressing anyone). Seeing the producers for the upcoming album make me quite excited too. ;o My Life Would Suck Without You should (hopefully) be another pop-rock stormer.

January 4, 200916 yr Kelly is actually doing her own A&R with this album; she will have a fair bit of influence over the final tracklist. My December was NOT 'critically panned' whatsoever. And it was meaningful, however little you got out of it.

T'sall I'm saying. :) Actually, My December was filled of songs that the label didnt want. They were willing to pay her $10Million to get rid of 5 songs off MD but she refused.

And the compromise was that if she did the album she wanted, she had to do the album the label wanted next. Masquerade is the album that the label want her to do, so the label will decide what songs go on the album. If she had balls, they'd have her by them, because all they'd have to say to her is "You've had your album". Yes, she's got some say in things, but the label will win every fight if they have one. That being said, she's getting on better with the label, so who knows exactly what's going to be on the album? We certainly don't.

January 4, 200916 yr No-one will ever be able to convince me MD is better than Breakaway. The latter is the definitive Clarkson record, and I think it wll probably stay that way. It's not a negative, as it's pop music as it's best. I'm glad she's ditched the MD schtick. I don't want her to flop again.

Now she has to release what they want her to because they let her release My December. Anyway, I'm sick of repeating the same thing. None of us know for sure what is or what isn't going to be on the album. We should just wait for the official tracklisting.
