September 2, 200816 yr ... And Anti Abortion. This is something I strongly agree with her about, I am very anti abortion Except in circumstances where the baby was conceived as a result of rape there should be a ban on abortion, babies in the womb have beating hearts as early as 9 weeks and have the right to a life
September 2, 200816 yr Okay it just keeps getting better. Turns out that Sarah Palin's 17 year old daughter has been pregnant for five months! And She's "going to marry" the boy who knocked her up. UN-FUKKING-BELIEVABLE! Source: http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/01/pal...hter/index.html This is a woman who has demanded "abstinence-only" education for her entire career. During the 2006 Gubernatorial campaign form in Alaska: Will you support funding for abstinence-until-marriage education instead of for explicit sex-education programs, school-based clinics, and the distribution of contraceptives in schools? Palin's Response: Yes, the explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support. Source: http://eagleforumalaska.blogspot.com/2006/...-candidate.html And the Republicans are saying this is a private, family matter. EXCUSE ME?! This is a woman (and a party) whose anti-gay, anti-abortion rights stances have brought the private, family matters of MILLIONS OF PEOPLE into the public eye. Also the woman has a newborn baby with Down's Syndrome. Want to know why? Because she was 44 years old when she had the baby earlier this year. Studies have shown for DECADES that women who have babies post age 40 present HUGE risks of genetic disorders to their newborns. But, no doubt, Sarah Palin believes contraception is wrong. And God provides. Well great, now you've got a little boy with Down's Syndrome. Hope you're happy with yourself, Sarah. So now we have a woman who has FIVE children, including one special-needs newborn baby and a pregnant daughter (who she is forcing to MARRY shotgun, which is unbelievably stupid, intolerant, ignorant, etc) who could be DANGEROUSLY close to the highest position of leadership in the country and one of the highest positions of leadership on this Earth. Absolutely SHOCKING and unacceptable. This goes beyond politics. The woman needs to resign as VP contender. I don't care if it helps John McCain's campaign. John McCain or not, it would be unbelievably irresponsible to put this woman within 1 heart attack of the Presidency of the United States. Why should she resign ? it is a private family matter and nothing to do with her job Say for example Jacqui Smith the UK home secretary had a son or daughter arrested for a crime would it be a private matter for her and her family or should she resign because she is in charge of the laws of the land and her child broke them ?
September 5, 200816 yr They are her individual private opinions, they are not some uniform right wing textbook it is a ridiculous stereotype to assume that every right winger is a sheep who believes in everything she does they are her own private views What are you talking about? How can a topic like the banning of same sex marriages be a "PRIVATE OPINION", when you are running for vice president?!? It is a major issue that is basically withholding millions of citizen's personal freedoms!
September 6, 200816 yr Why should she resign ? it is a private family matter and nothing to do with her job Say for example Jacqui Smith the UK home secretary had a son or daughter arrested for a crime would it be a private matter for her and her family or should she resign because she is in charge of the laws of the land and her child broke them ? Like has already been said, it DOES have to do with her job. It's proof that her stances on abstinence education are absurd and incorrect. And anyway, now we've got a woman with 5 kids, including one special needs newborn baby, and 1 grandchild of her 17 year old daughter. How is she going to be able to put forth the time and effort needed to be Vice President... or President?
September 6, 200816 yr This is something I strongly agree with her about, I am very anti abortion Except in circumstances where the baby was conceived as a result of rape there should be a ban on abortion, babies in the womb have beating hearts as early as 9 weeks and have the right to a life Interesting. Sarah Palin has said publicly that she believes abortion is wrong in every single situation. She was asked "If your daughter were raped and became pregnant with the rapist's child, is it ok to abort?" She said absolutely not. She she believes it should be ILLEGAL to abort even in that situation. And yet, when she released the press release stating her daughter had become pregnant, it said "She has chosen to keep the baby." She she respects choice ONLY if it's her own daughter. It's outrageously hypocratical.

September 8, 200816 yr He probably will drop dead if he is elected, at some time during his term in office. Palin is HORRIFIC it's like Thatcher 08 US style. :/
September 9, 200816 yr Palin is HORRIFIC it's like Thatcher 08 US style. :/ Palin for President in 2012 then please :D :D
September 9, 200816 yr McCain Leads Obama 50% to 46%, New Poll Finds, USA Today Reports By James Kraus Sept. 8 (Bloomberg) -- Republican presidential candidate John McCain leads Democratic contender Barack Obama by 50 percent to 46 percent among registered voters, according to a weekend USA Today/Gallup Poll, USA Today reported. The surge in enthusiasm following the selection of McCain's running mate Sarah Palin marks a turnaround from the poll taken just before the Republican convention opened in St. Paul when he lagged by 7 percentage points, the newspaper reported. The new poll, taken Friday though Sunday, shows McCain leading Obama by 54 percent to 44 percent among people most likely to vote and was conducted among 1,022 adults, including 959 registered voters, with a margin of error of plus or minus 3 points for both samples, the newspaper said. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...&refer=home Choosing Palin was the most inspired choice in US political history just about, following her barnstorming speech at the convention Obama is being blown away :cheer: :cheer:
September 9, 200816 yr Sarah Palin is PURE EVIL!!!!! Another reason why I HATE Republicans. All they respresent in HATE. They HATE gays, HATE single mothers, HATE blacks, HATE poor people. And if they get in again, then the whole world is DOOMED to another World War IMO

Someone whose views would be considered totally loopy by most Britons makes a decent speech totally devoid of any policy content and becomes very popular as a result. And apparently that's a good thing. Have I got it right? Oh, hang on, I forgot. You support Cameron so you're all in favour of politicians who are all style and no content.

I support the Conservative party, I am not particularly keen on Cameron but he is the elected leader so will get my full support, I personally supported Liam Fox and David Davis for the leadership but I respect the decision to appoint Cameron
September 9, 200816 yr Gah, I can't decide what the hell I think of Palin. On the one hand her views on abortion differ fiercely from mine, and I don't like that she hunts, especially in Alaska where killing dieing species of bear is the last thing they should be doing. On the other hand, she seems to be seen as a role model to many; raising five children, including an autistic baby, going out to work; running a State and a family simultaeneously isn't anything to be scoffed at. What I can't decide is whether she could really be a worthy vice-president and, within the next presidential term no doubt, be the President herself, or whether she is just a passing fad in the ever-exploding world of US politics and celebrity. There's no doubt that Obama needs to win - Republicans in general are pretty unbearable - but it's not looking all too likely right now, and I think Palin would potentially be a better president than McCain (that's saying nothing, I realise). It's just a huge shame the best candidate by far never made it. Poor Hilary. :(
September 11, 200816 yr Bit of a sweeping statement there Joey, could you point to some examples in McCain's manifesto that show hatred towards gays, single mums, blacks and the poor ? Why don't you read their f***ing policies! Oh who would have thought that it could be that simple?!? I swear, I wonder if you are really 12.
