Posted June 5, 200619 yr Kylie Minogue returns to the studio DigitalSpy: Monday, June 5 2006, 11:17 BST - by Matt Houghton Pop singer Kylie Minogue has returned to the recording studio for the first time since being diagnosed with cancer last May. The star has reportedly been working on her new album for a week, despite admitting to considering giving up her career in music altogether. She told the Sydney Sun-Herald, "I have thought of retiring to a little house and giving it all up, but I always look forward...It's been a long hard road, but I'm feeling good and now I want to get back into the swing of things." Minogue also revealed that, despite returning to her career, she wants to start a family. She said "...I feel broody. It's only natural. It hasn't happened yet, but I hope it will someday " Do you think we will see a single or album this side of Xmas?
June 5, 200619 yr Do you think we will see a single or album this side of Xmas? I hope so, it be a great boost for her

June 5, 200619 yr yesi read this in todats sun newspaper,,i hoppe it all goes well for her and more importantly i hope she does things slowly and looks after her health as that really is top of the list after such a harrowing year I agree, her health is more important to me than rushing to get music out. But if she does, I'm sure she'll be well enough when it's time to promote, in which case I CAN'T WAIT! :D YAY! :cheer:
June 7, 200619 yr i wonder what direction she will take for the new album,,i think it could be a darker album as kylie has had such a huge chane to life since her last album so it could have some dark sides to it...then it could be the other way she went through a serious health scare but came out the better side and survived and is happy about that so the album could reflect this also
June 10, 200619 yr if rumours are true about kylie recording a new album i would safely say it wont see a release until about this time next year as im sure she is goona take it easy and wont be rushing into doing a whole loads ork for a while,,,and as i said before its great that she can take things easy which she should as her health should be her main focus
June 27, 200618 yr what kind of sound do you guys think kylie might go for on the new album for me i hope its pop pop/dance im hoping it wont be another rn b/pop style like bodylanguage
June 27, 200618 yr Hope Kylie goes back to the sound she had with I Believe In You - hopefully working with the scissor sisters again. a collaboration with SAW would be brill too as long as it was an update of the sound they had before and a good catchy pop song. Please no r n b - it might be the 'in' sound at the mo but it just doesn't suit Kylie. Hope to hear a single before xmas even without a lot of promotion X
June 27, 200618 yr Here's some news I can add to this as I know Johnny Douglas quite well as well as Kylie and her team: Just spoken to Johnny, who did 'Disco Down', 'Password', 'Red Blooded Woman', 'Cruise Control' & 'Chocolate' with Kylie plus unreleased tracks 'Kisses', 'Secret Garden' and 'On The Up'. This weekend he is writing new tracks for Kylie's new project. Exciting eh? :D But Parlophone have requested he do a song in the same vein as Nelly Furtado's Maneater. I'm not keen on that idea. I've already said to Johnny I cannot see a Maneater style track suiting Kylie, especially now. She doesn't need to be all smokey and sexy now, writhing about in hotpants etc, she needs something postive and uplifitng. A return to pop/disco (ala 'Light Years' and 'Fever') would be apt. Not hip-hop beats and US vibes. It's just tacky. Parlophone select people do do demos and then send them in and they decide with Kylie what they wanna use for the project and record. If Kylie likes it she will go and record it so essentially Johnny will put together an instrumental demo first. She's been working with Richard Stannard (Biffco) & Scissor Sisters too so hopefully they will come up with some good stuff. I shall let you know what it's like when I hear it. Will be interesting. He was telling me how he was pissed off that the version of 'Cruise Control' on the 'Red Blooded Woman' single was included by mistake of Parlophone and it was the demo mix he was working on. He only included the Sean Paul rap for private use and to play around with. He didn't even have a license to use that vocal sample of Sean Paul. It was accidently included on the CD, hence no credit to Sean Paul on the cover and Parlophone had to pay a lot of money to sort it out as they were in big poo. He also told me how 'Disco Down' was originally a demo called 'Burn This Disco' and it was Kylie's talk of 'Getting down at the disco' that evolved the title and then became a song which was lyrically very personal to Johnny about a personal event in his life and the notion of someone leaving and 'burning the disco down', so to speak. He said some people at Mushroom loved the song and pushed for it to be a single but it never came to be. Also, an early version of 'Chocolate' included a rap by Ludacris but wasn't used on the final mix. (A part of Ludacris vocals can be heard at the beginning of the released version over the intro). Another unreleased track he did with Kylie was 'On The Up' in early 2003 for the 'Body Language' album plus 'Kisses' and 'Secret Garden', which Rachel Steven's later covered. June 28, 200618 yr im hoping it wont be another rn b/pop style like bodylanguage I consider Body Language more electro-popish, the only tracks with an urban influence are Red Blooded Woman, Chocolate and Promises I think. She was clearly more successful with her Light Years and Fever sound, she should do that kind of material again. Or perhaps some electro pop with a bit more bite than the Body Language stuff.
June 28, 200618 yr I've seen a release date of early spring 07 hanging around, anyone know if that's true?
June 29, 200618 yr Im glad Kylie didn't include "secret garden" on her album. Its the worst song on Rachels album! Kylie might have spiced it up a bit though
June 29, 200618 yr kylie should defo stick to the mind of light years fever style as it really is what she does best and is also what sells more records with also im sure the new album will bring huge surprises as kylie will have a very different aspect of life now than when she recorded before her illness
June 30, 200618 yr I agree. I know she likes to experiment but i would hate it if she went to different.
June 30, 200618 yr i cant see that as kylie knows her fans love her best doing pop or pop/dance style music
June 30, 200618 yr like some of body language tracks,,it wouldnt be my faveourite album though,,body langauge is alot better than kylie minogue1994 album that is the only kylie album i dont have much time for
June 30, 200618 yr that a very hit and miss album but i love confide in me, put yourself in my place (my fav kylie song), dangerous game and automatic love. rest i can live without.
