I simply cannot state how fabulous Side Chick is. Just... too much.

Refined opinion:

1. Side Chick | Absolutely the most wonderful Sugababes song ever. Totally incredible. R&B, so so modern. Rap-like verses. 12455/10

2. Unbreakable Heart | Just immense, again. Amazing key change near the end and a great vocoded Heidi bit. Brilliant key change too. 10/10

3. Can We Call A Truce | Probably an even better closer than Now You're Gone. Amazing Heidi verse and Amelle chorus. Epic strings. 10/10

4. Hanging On A Star | This is class. Brilliantly youthful, retro yet modern. A 'bit' like a GA song actually. I think it sounds Xenomania-ish. 10/10

5. Every Heart Broken | Already spoken about this. Great song. 9.5/10

6. Nothing's As Good As You | Gorgeous, cute without being cutesy. Fab vocals. 9/10

7. You On A Good Day | Brilliant lyrics, brilliant vibe, brilliant spoken bits. A future favourite I'm sure. 9/10

8. Girls | Obviously we all know this, and I love it. 9/10

9. Sound Of Goodbye | A sad song, it's production reminds me of a Robbie Williams ballad! Though better than that obv. 9/10

10. Sunday Rain | Grand, like a Bond song. Dark. Will grow for sure. 8.5/10

11. No Can Do | Great chorus, so-so verses. Brilliant final minute. 8/10

12. Beware | Not a classic, I think it's fair to say. Alright though, a grower. 7.5/10

Their best album by a country mile. I just adore it already.

Side Chick is the standout for me

Best album by them imo. Which I never thought I'd be saying after the mess that was Change LOL :D

Babes did good :)

Pleased you like it. :D

It'll get good reviews, I'm extremely sure. I do think with the right singles, it could get well past double-platinum, but alas No Can Do is already chosen. :( I'd go:

2. Every Heart Broken

3. Hanging On A Star

4. Side Chick

The Times reviewed it and gave it 3/5

Having lost some of their pop sparkle since last year’s bland Change, Sugababes are attempting to put some electricity back into their sound with their sixth album, Catfights And Spotlights. They make the sixties sound their own on You On A Good Day, while Side Chick and Unbreakable Heart recall the urban angst that made us fall in love with them. However, the throaty-voiced Amelle Berrabah is no replacement for the soulful, feisty pipes of the former member Mutya Buena

(from Sugatime)

Good review. Odd that it only gets 3/5 and yet the only bad comment is about Amelle, not the songs. Their opinion though. They picked their highlights well too!
Making my way through now, thanks to Mikal :kink:  But, I just cannot explain my love for 'Truce' So f***ing beautiful! Easily my fave Sugas ballad ever already. <3 The lyrics, the music and the vocals are all perfect imo.

Its not really odd, i dont think the mark of 3/5 related to the comments made, i think they just made some positive comments and then gave it an overall rating.

Oh and i agree about the amelle comment. I always agree with the times -_-

I always agree with my star sign in the Daily Mirror, its scarily true all the time.

^^ i'm like that but it doesnt matter what the paper is, it always seems to be right.

Although once it said I was desperate  how rude is that

LOL shut up, it was only like 2 week ago as well it was something like "You are desperate at the minute" then went on talking about relationships coming together

I'm desperate. Desperate for the talk to get back to the album, so get to it! -_-

I want track by track reviews, Robintime and Si!

It's way too early for reviews for each song

I'm gona do an album review soon. Ive not heard all the tracks yet.

Nothing really blows me away up to yet but the songs are instantly listenable. Its hard to explain but from what ive heard, ive never cringed and thought ohhhh that bits awful, there is nothing like that but then again, theres nothing that makes me go WOW. Its like ive got a pint of lager on a drip attached to me, constant, nice pleasure.

omg, just listening to 'nothings as good as you', amelles bit at 1:20 is absolutely stunning.

Scrub my last comment. There are gems i have yet to find.

Oooh! :D

In terms of emotive vocals, it's all about Truce. So beautiful.
