Hmmm. These thoughts are completely honest and based on three listens to the song:

The good points:

*The chorus is addictive. 'The promise I made, the promise I made; is starting to fade, starting to fade. V g.

*It's hugely uplifting which only ever works in a song's favour.

The bad points:

*Sarah sounds like she is forcing a poo out.

*The verses aren't at all distinctive...

*It's worryingly safe.

My conclusion:

*Will make the Top 5 and be a reasonable hit; I just wish the group who gave us SKOooh would come back.

^ LOL you're totally right about Sarah.
LOL at the Sarah comment  sounds as if she has constipated

if we're not higher in the AF table I'll eat my hat :heehee:

*goes and listens*

...Oh the wonders of YouTube. :D

Opening post on Page 1 updated with audio rip of the song. :w00t:

Its such a grower! I defy anyone to not at least LIKE it by the 3rd listen!
I now like all of the song, except the first 26secs which i think put people off the song... i still think there is too much sarah and that it is more of an album track than it is a lead single...

That is a really balanced review.

Personally, I think doing another electronic style Something Kinda Oooh type song would be more worryingly safe than the musical change of direction they have made.

However, you are spot on with Sarah's vocal style. However seeing how Nickleback are huge in 2008 with Chad Kroeger sounding like he is "dropping his children by the pool" when singing, then I guess that vocal technique is in vogue now, as Mariah's/Xtina's/Beyonce's, etc "why sing 1 note when you can manage 17" vocal acrobatics at the turn of the century.

Yep, it's certainly no lead single. My only problem with it (besides the ending) that I can't get over is the verses - they're so busy and unmemorable. I've played it six times back-to-back. I can only remember how the chorus goes. Where is the melody?! It's production above melody, which is rarely good.

Oh girls!! This is dissapointing on first listen, hopefully it will grow on me.
The best bit melody-wise is the part where Nadine comes in ... 'Had enough...'

the chorus I loved straight away  and I'm already getting my groove on :kink:

the verses took a whole 2 extra plays to love :o :kink:

Nadine and Cheryl (i never thought id say CHERYL!!!) make the song IMO. Nicola and Kim arent their best vocally, Sarah i think is better than those two on this.

After 'Call The Shots', 'Sexy No No No!', Biology' and 'Something Kinda Oooh' this is my 5th most favourite Girls Aloud song EVER!!!

Played it again on Radio 1, deffo a grower and deffo radio friendly!

Omg what are you on?! Nicola and Kim's parts are easily the best in this song. Nadine does okay too, Cheryl is alright, Sarah's bit is dire.

it's not bad! it's oke, sarah's and kimberley's vocals are just bad
