It won't make #01 because there are better songs out at the moment. Touché. Still, very good nonetheless. Deerhunter's 'Nothing Ever Happened' is one such example of an amaze song and hence it clings to #01 for a second week running. One of the best songs of the year so far it is. White Lies and Ladyhawke (both former #01s) continue their stagnent form in the top 5 with Stars galloping three up to round off the top 5. A mix of genres for the bottom half of the top 10; ambient indie-rock from non-movers Foals, Mujava and Amadou & Mariam bring in the electronique worldish African vibe with both of their brilliant singles. Amadou & Mariam's new single is the forthcoming single from their album 'Welcome to Mali'. The single was produced by one Damon Albarn. Baltimore club and Australiana be the other genres making up the rest of the top 10. Elsewhere cool-as, soon-to-be-huge'sters We Have Band enter with their debut 'buzz single', 'We Hear It In the Cans' features on the forthcoming Kitsuné Maison 6 compilation. Their first single proper 'Oh!' charts later next month (or should do anyway). Massachusetts' Passion Pit, Demark's synth-pawp's Small, Manchester's Sisters and London's The Pig Pink all round out the top 40 in terms of new entries. Meanwhile other songs move up whilst some move down.
