October 13, 200816 yr I think it's great that she's trying something different. Being stuck in the same mould just shortens a career.
October 13, 200816 yr She is the only XF winner you hear about in every country. Based on that, no 1 on the back of her successful run with 'Spirit'. It's not a bad song, either.
October 31, 200816 yr Well it looks like she has to settle for a top 3 placing but I still hope she can dethrone that X Factor - Hero song.
November 1, 200816 yr ^^ because she is only no11 on the irish itunes, its not a great song really, i mean its hardly got the same buzz as bleeding love has it? Its also been available to hear for what seems like forever. Its not even getting that good airplay is it?
November 1, 200816 yr Yeah I know what you mean. I still think it'll do well though if not number one, number two. It's not really that good a song but anything Leona does will sell well. Do you think the XF finalists will keep any of Leona/Britney/Xtina/Beyonce off number one then? Edited November 1, 200816 yr by Callum24

Its also been available to hear for what seems like forever. Its not even getting that good airplay is it? It's been out in Ireland a few weeks now. It's top 10 in airplay and your opinion about it not being a great song is subjective. Of course it doesn't have the same buzz as Bleeding Love, that was to be expected. I think it will get #2 behind 'Hero' personally.
November 1, 200816 yr ^^ so basically you prove my point, it aint no bleeding love and so i dont see why most people think its a sure fire no1.
November 1, 200816 yr ^^ so basically you prove my point, it aint no bleeding love and so i dont see why most people think its a sure fire no1. Most people thought it was a sure fire No.1 weeks ago, cos no new about 'Hero' and it was also assumed Leona would be performing on X Factor the weekend before the single came (which hasnt happened, cos she hasnt performed anywhere, lol). Tbh if the 'Hero' song was not around, she would have hit no.1 anyway, but alas No.2 it will be! p.s. Leona is in both top 10's for radion and tv airplay!

Many songs are "no Bleeding Love"s but get to #1. ;) Most people thought it was a sure fire No.1 weeks ago, cos no new about 'Hero' and it was also assumed Leona would be performing on X Factor the weekend before the single came (which hasnt happened, cos she hasnt performed anywhere, lol). Leona has performed on two shows (National Lottery and GMTV) but it's not great promo by any means. I don't think the label care that much where FM charts as top 5 is pretty much a given. They'll be focusing more on sales for Spirit:Deluxe, especially up to Christmas. That's why Leona's on X-Factor two days before the release of the deluxe and she is most likely performing 'Run' to promote it. If they cared about FM she would have been on XF this week.
November 1, 200816 yr Can i just point out that i really like leona. I was just pointing out that i personally do not see this song being that massive.

November 1, 200816 yr Yeah I agree. Poor Leona, I like that song. After hearing the song a few times now though ... do you not think it sounds just - ordinary and to be honest - not worthy of her? I thought she'd be number 1 with ease, but with regard to female singer's releases in the near future - Beyonce's If I Were A Boy stands out far and above this Leona effort. To me - the more I hear it the more I hear 'The Sweetest Escape' only not quite as good. Norma Edited November 1, 200816 yr by Norma_Snockers
November 1, 200816 yr ^^ exactly, i heard a lot of people say it was like sweet escape and i looked forward to hearing it and then i thought well, this is no where near as good.

You can't keep churning out ballads. But it's no Bleeding Love but then again it's not the lead single off an album which almost has to be spectacular these days. It's merely a closing chapter. How will it do, well you have to factor in Hero which will still be #1 and Girls Aloud continuing impressive sales. However it's the top pre-order physical this week and shot up iTunes faster than Girls Aloud in Ireland on release so it should make top 5 with some ease. On the new single front Norma, are you a bit disappointed with the new Take That single? It's a bit weak compared to both Patience and Rule The World and if it wasn't for the already huge fanbase I'd worry about its performance. Edited November 1, 200816 yr by 6weeksatnumber7
November 1, 200816 yr On the new single front Norma, are you a bit disappointed with the new Take That single? It's a bit weak compared to both Patience and Rule The World and if it wasn't for the already huge fanbase I'd worry about its performance. If I'm being honest - I was disappointed when I first heard it ... it has grown on me and the tune makes me forgive its total lack of lyrics. Having said that - yes - it isn't anywhere near as good as RTW (which I don't think they will ever better). On the other hand .... its a lot better than Shine or IWFL and certainly better (with the exception of Reach Out) than the non-single release songs from Beautiful World. Greatest Day is going to be the opener for the Circus Live Tour though and I should imagine it will do its job perfectly. Back to Leona though - I think this is a really average song (mind you - I detest Akon so it really didn't have much chance with me I suppose  ) Weird that Take That and Leona after coming out with two of the best songs at the same time last year - are coming out with two fairly disappointing (by their standards) songs at the same time this year!
