Kylie Dubai Gig

Kylie Minogue will perform at Dubai's Festival City on November 21st – her first ever gig in the Middle East.

More than 20,000 fans are expected to attend the gig which is part of the star’s X2008 Tour and tickets will go on sale from September 24th.

Kylie says: “I can’t wait to see you all at my first ever show in the Middle East.”

Thomas Ovesen, Managing Director AEG Live Middle East who has organised the event, said: “For years we have been waiting for Kylie to perform here in the Middle East.

“It is going to be a great night and Dubai Festival City will definitely be the place to be on November 21st.”

The event will follow Kylie’s exclusive gig in The Atlantis Hotel on The Palm Jumeirah on November 20th.

The Aussie singer is rumoured to be getting paid a whopping US$4million for her performance at the most expensive private party – ever.

The star will perform at the exclusive launch party for the Atlantis and the fee will rank her performance among the best paid in history.

According to British reports the party, on November 20th, is believed to be costing an astonishing US$32million.

The confirmed guest list already includes celebrities from the acting and music world who are being flown in from around the globe.

The last time an Atlantic resort launched in the Bahamas, the guest list included JOHN TRAVOLTA, WHITNEY HOUSTON, JANET JACKSON and STEVIE WONDER.

It is believed THE BECKHAMS, who already own a home on The Palm, could also turn up.

Kylie Minogue will star at what is being touted as the most expensive private party ever staged - a £16 million ($35 million) soiree at a new luxury hotel in Dubai.

British newspapers reported that Minogue will be paid £2 million ($4.4 million) to keep 2000 guests spinning around at the opening of the Atlantis Hotel on the man-made island of Palm Jumeirah.

The November 20 beach party will mark Minogue's first performance in the Middle East.

The hotel's management company, Kerzner International, confirmed the Australian songstress would be the main attraction at the party where the guest list will include politicians, actors, musicians and the Dubai royal family.

A £3 million ($6.58 million) firework display will light up the entire resort as guests party the night away.

The 1539-room luxury hotel, which is expected to welcome its first guests on September 24, is a joint venture between Kerzner and the Dubai government-owned Istithmar.

The gig, to open the Atlantis hotel which shoots skyward from the outer ring of the Palm, will be a highlight of the night which also includes a colossal firework display costing a further £3 million.

The display designers - Grucci's - put on the Beijing Olympic fireworks but promise this display will be 'more expensive, more expansive and more complex' than both of the opening and closing Olympics firework displays put back to back.

The display will light up the entire 43 km of coastline of the Palm, an island whose beachside homes have already been bought up at a terrific rate by celebrities across the world.

Catering and further entertainment for the party itself will stretch to another £1.5 million with dinner designed by four Michelin-starred chefs including Giorgio Locatelli and Nobu Matsuhisa.
