Not keen on Disc 2 (the only good song on there is Japan's European Son) but I'd buy it for Discs 1 and 3.

is this a good compilation?

its a VERY good compilation and id suggest an essential for young indie kids of today to see where the style originated.

Nah, disc 2 has some of the best stuff on it - Transmission, Death Disco, Underpants (sorry, Underpass) etc.

Yes, while not exactly boasting anything new, this is a fantastic entry level compilation - kudos to the compilers.

It's an excellent compilation.

I wonder which version of "Sound Of The Suburbs" is on the album? The original single version never seems to appear on these compilations, instead we always get the inferior album version. I'd love to be able to get hold of a copy of the single version but it appears to be next to impossible.

 .... so i wasnt the only one being very silly at this song then! lol

I'm a very silly person!

I don't how they can call it 'the edge of the seventies' were there are quite a few eighties tracks on there.

To be honest i think 'the edge of the eighties' album was far superior to this one.

true , there were several 80's tracks in that 70's list.

that 80's list is a corker ... both albums are a 'must' imho for any music fans who havnt got much retro..

I think i would buy the 1970s one over the 1980s..tho this one does have David Sylvian followed by Associates on disc one and a good start to disc two (tho dont know who most of the peaople are after that)

12. Bow Wow Wow - Chihuahua

I dont know this record but i would so love it to be a Malcolm McLaren/Antpeople version of the old DJ Bobo song  that would be so surreal....

btw does anyone else think this dj bobo sounds like a mix between lou bega and jovanotti's gino latino (true!!!)
