Nope. It's very dreary. There's a tiny bit of piano that I like in it but it's in no way accessible or interesting enough to get anyone interested again.

Sounds a lot more inaccessible - which is a good thing. I can't tell if it's going to be a grower from first listen. At least it's not dull.
After people telling me for so long that I'd like her music I've just started to give her stuff a go and I'm already hooked on Cornflake Girl. I only knew of Professional Widow beforehand from when I was a kid so I have a lot of her back catalogue to go through but if it's all like these 2 then I'm in for a treat!
Out today. I've been listening to the stream. It's certainly a lot more challenging than any of her last 4 albums. That's not to say that great things will emerge - we'll see.

(Tony will be AGOG at the lack of China!)

Equally agog at the lack of Sugar, Hotel, Carnival, Baker Baker, Virginia, Lust, Jackie's Strength,..

It goes to show that even after 2 discs of music there's still more great stuff to be listened to.

it takes a few plays but the second half is great. It's a cover.

Okay. I'm actually not hating her new album. :o

(Although I'm not loving the inclusion of her daughter)

I'm not hating it either but I'm not loving to much. Seven Sisters is my fave.

Tori!!! She's flawless. Ok, I also admit that from SW through American Doll Posse, the quality diminished, but in every of those albums, there were gems to be found. And as silly and repetitive as it sounds, her worst albums are still better than many other artists' best ones.

I looove Night of Hunters. But yes, her daughter needs to disappear from future studio work. That said, I've learned to enjoy the songs she's in. The album would be near perfect if it wasn't for two songs: Edge of the Moon and The Chase.
